After living three years with a private backyard, I moved to a new community which requires I walk my two miniature schnauzers on leash (18lbs & 22lbs so I bought medium size). One is constantly active, zig zagging around the other twisting dual leashes constantly. I found a swiveling double leash on Amazon with swivel just below handle. It was a great improvement but with 4' length of leashes below the swivel and short-legged dogs they still sometimes get tangled up, but less frequently. This Mighty Paw BungeeX2 brings the swivel way down closer to the dogs which is the best swiveling leash so far so they very infrequently get caught up. A HUGE BONUS: as a runner I found a belt style leash to wear while running (from Amazon also with bungee) that allows me to clip on a single leash but still holding the other to maintain some type of control and coordination. I injured my shoulder last week and feared walking my dogs (and was told not to by the ER doc) b/c they like to chase squirrels and pull!! I connected this MightyPaw double swivel to a single leash attached to the runner's belt. Now I walk them completely hands free!!! This is the best set up I can imagine!! I can carry a flash light, use sanitary bags without trouble of pulling and I use the strength of my legs to resist any pulling rather than my hands, arms & shoulders. I fell in love with this combination after my first walk. I've sent Amazon links to both of these items yesterday to my 65 year old parents who just got their 2nd 60 lb dog who need to be on leashes (they should buy large since dogs are taller.). I hope they do the belt too b/c my mom couldn't hold a single leash if they both tried pulling. It's a fairly new leash, seems sturdy for my weight dogs and it's a pleasure to give this recommendation to others. I own more than 10-12 other leashes I don't expect to use anymore.

The leash appears well made of a very strong nylon. We love that our two brittanies, who would usually get tangled if walking close to each other, are now much easier to walk together by one person. The best part of this leash is that it has a very sturdy swivel feature. They never get tangled even though they constantly switch sides and twist around each other. We use these with a Yup! harness on each of them and it works well. If they do pull in opposite directions, the pulling is offset somewhat and is less strain on your arm. One of our dogs is bigger and stronger than the other, so he is able to somewhat pull the smaller dog if he wants to. The only difficult thing is when they are both going to pull the same direction, (if they see something and become excited they have a tendency to pull more) the bungee stretches and it requires more effort to redirect them with the leash because of this. The bungee feature makes this much more difficult when this happens.Overall, this leash is pretty much what we were looking for, something that would allow one person to walk both of our dogs at once.

I am discussing: 100 POUND+ DOGS, BUNGEE EFFECT, COUPLER LENGTH, SWIVEL & DESIGN WITH COLLAR AND GENTLE LEADERS.We have two Bloodhounds: 115 pound puppy, he is 8 1/2 month old and 108 pound older brother, 8 years, both very strong. Since it is an XL breed we needed a longer double leash and Mighty Paw's Double Dog Leash BungeeX2 delivered, it is very strong and durable. The coupler at 24 inches is already a good length and then bungee elongating it further is the perfect length and freedom. The other fabulous feature about the bungee effect it draws them back in not letting them think they can get to far going off the path. Freedom with some boundaries. Our big boys LOVE to sniff, to be on the move, one is a PUPPY strong and raring to go and did I mention the sniffing? They need the room for a comfortable walk and to do their business with some space. Think standard size sidewalk, when we are walking there is enough width for each to walk on opposite sides and I walk down the middle. They have their space and are not on top of each other.I said to my husband, "SWIVEL me timbers!" It TRULY works!!! The design keeps our babies tangle free when I attach the coupler directly to the collars it truly does what it says. There have been days where the puppy is in crazy mode and I have had to put the Gentle Leader back on and attach the coupe to the Gentle Leader. It still works great but it is not 100% tangle free but 90% and this is solely of the Gentle Leader design and its purpose not because of the coupler. With two big Bloodhounds I thought it may fail in some way but after several days and multiple walks a day, it is a great product. I highly recommend you buy, try and then think of who you could give the gift of one lead walking.
