When I took it out of the package the red strip was already halfway down the line… don’t know if this affects its filtering ability but concerned that the package itself was intact and this wasn’t.

For the brand name filter, this one on Amazon is the cheapest I can find including postage. Works as expected, no issues.

Sadly, without an in date Hepa filter my Meile won't work causing me a bit of panic with a dust pan and brush gge other morning. Thankfully my vac is back to its usual reliable self and I'll reorder in good time for next years change over. The filer is easy to replace.
