Before buying this, I tried a cheaper concrete stone and it never set and didn’t turn out. I bought this one and everything about this was just perfect. I love that it came with little glass stones and bits of broken glass to decorate it. It also comes with number and letter stamps. If you want a concrete stone, that is going to set and actually come out it is worth the extra money. I would totally buy this again.

Had a great time making these with my granddaughters. They are moving away and now I can see their handprints in my garden every time I miss them.

These were really fun to make and turned out really cute! They were much easier than I expected and the kit came with everything we needed. A little time consuming but so worth it!

I purchased 2 kits and made one garden stone for my husband and one for my father-in-law for Father's Day - they turned out great! I put clear plastic wrap over the wet mortar before pressing my baby's feet, and it worked out really well. As far as mixing the mortar and making the stone, we followed the intructions and it worked out fine. We added a bit too much water to the first one, so I let it sit for about 30 min after it was poured into the mold, then laid papertowel on top to soak up the excess water per the instructions and it worked like a charm. The second we let sit up a little too long before working with it (~45-60 min), so I had to use a little more muscle to set the glass tiles in, but it all worked out. I gently cleaned them with a toothbrush after 12 hours as instructed, and then turned them out of the molds after 24-30 hrs, and they came out beautifully.

So easy. I mixed and poured, and let my almost 5 yo son decorate. If I was doing it, I would have put way more glass, but this is a gift for nana, so I let him fully decide how many and where they go. Stamps were very easy to use. Waiting for it to dry so I can't comment on how easy or not it is to remove yet. This is such a perfect gift idea. Will be purchasing another for Father's day.

This made a beautiful stone. There are enough mosaic pieces to make another in the future if we buy another bag of the concrete. I like the reusable letter and number stamps and that the leaf mold is reusable. The stone came out of the mold with no problem. We are still waiting for it to cure as recommended before putting it outside in the garden.

I absolutely love this kit, and I’m buying about 5 more. All of the in-laws and parents are getting stones with my child’s handprint for Christmas this year! The assortment of glass was beautiful, full of Browns, greens and blues, and the stamps leave perfect, deep letters in the mix. I’m looking forward to creating more of these, well worth the money!! Only thing I did additionally was purchase a bucket to mix it all in;)**Second review**I got my second box in, and like many of the reviews say, the stones/glass was different... it was a random assortment, and I love them both!!! The second one had a beautiful purple glass, light blue, some amber and a gorgeous emerald green. Stunning and turned out amazing!!!

My 5 year old daughter and I did this project together and it was pretty easy. In the kit, you get instructions on the back of the cover image, plastic tray leaf mold, stepping stone plaster mix, letter/number stamps, stir stick, and colored glass and gem pieces. Note that you will need a bucket to mix the stepping stone plaster in, which I didn't expect when we started the project since I didn't see other reviews I read mention this. Immediately after dumping the plaster into the tray, you'll need to rinse the bucket with a garden hose before the plaster dries in the bucket.I have attached a photo of the instructions, what the plaster consistency should look like, and our finished project (still in tray mold). To mix the plaster, dump the mix in and add about 2 cups of water all at once and stir with the stir stick. Keep adding water by teaspoon and mixing until it's the consistency of brownie batter. Then dump it into the leaf mold tray. We found that we must've added a little too much water because when we first tried to do her handprint, the plaster wouldn't hold the impression well. If you add too much water, take a paper towel and press it gently on top to absorb some of the excess water. We had to do this twice before the impression would stick. You'll have to use a putty knife to smooth the plaster before doing your impression and then again to smooth around it.To add the glass pieces/gems, just gently press them into the plaster just below the surface so they'll hold when the plaster hardens. You'll want to wait about an hour before you stamp the letters so the plaster is more conducive to it. It will need to harden overnight before you gently remove it from the tray.Overall, I felt the project was quite easy, water consistency aside, and was fun to do together. You will not receive as many colorful pieces of glass as you see in the product photo. We received plenty of pieces, but they were mostly the same blue, green, yellow, orange, and white hues throughout, so I do wish more colored pieces had been included like the image shown. The stamps also left rectangular impressions around the letters that I couldn't smooth out. For the price, it makes a beautiful craft and would be a great Mother's Day gift. The quality of the finished stone is beautiful and won't break easily taking it out of the tray and seems able to withstand weather in the garden.

OCTOBER 2022 UPDATE: I just added a star to this review because I am very pleased with the longevity of this stepping stone: This fun step stone has not broken, not even chipped, in all this time being used as a step stone (not super high traffic area though, and we don't get snow here, but 4 years surviving outside without damage is worth mentioning) . Hope this review is helpful to you :)Original Review: Very nice idea. A little chintzy on glass pieces - I had bought extra. In my photo, you will see mostly glass that DID NOT come with the kit. The glass that came with the kit was nice but not enough quantity wise or color wise. I also used a different lettering kit I bought sepsrately. So basically in my photo you see a lot that didn't come with the kit. The key thing is the mold leaf shape very nice, pre-measured cement very handy, and some nice glass, even if not enough. Still in mold drying. Time will tell if the leaf stem breaks off - that seems like a weak point of the mold design to me. Overall I recommend this purchase IF you are willing to buy some extra glass. The kit comes with a simpler style lettering set that would work fine, FYI, but I elected to buy and use a different lettering kit.TIP: Spray mold with Pam cooking spray so you can reuse it! The molds on these kits worth saving and reusable if you spray with cooking spray before each use.
