Midwest Hearth Vermiculite for Gas Logs
Vermiculite helps in spreading gas throughout the entire burner pan of propane gas logs. Midwest Hearth vermiculite uses high-quality exfoliated vermiculite.
Features
- Specially Formulated. Midwest Hearth vermiculite is formulated for use in vented gas log set fireplaces utilizing propane gas.
- Added Realism. Distributes heavier propane gas throughout the entire burner pan for a fuller flame effect.
- Adds Sparkle and Shine. The mica-like flakes add sparkle and shine to the fireplace for additional effect.
Safety
- This high-quality exfoliated vermiculite is 100 percent asbestos free and does not contribute to carbon monoxide or oxygen depletion.
- Midwest Hearth vermiculite is lightweight, incombustible, compressible, highly absorbent, and non-reactive.

I use this on top of the heavy duty foil under the gas elements to catch the drips from grilling. Works great, easier to use than sand or? Easily changes out 1-2 times a year. Wrap up in the foil and discard !

As others comment, this product is quite fine, so distribution is problematic since flames tend to get suppressed. Great if you want a smoldering-coals effect, but open flames require clearing spots for these granules to allow gas to escape.

Produit indispensable dans un insert fonctionnant au gaz. La vermiculite convient bien. Il serait judicieux de livrer ce produit dans un étui rigide afin d'éviter son écrasement lors du transport.

Great price, product looks great when fireplace is on or off. We put this in a three sided indoor gas fireplace. The results are great.
