Perfect al’dente pasta. I just cooked up some fusilli & made 1/2 serving, which is not shown as a serving but I merely halved the #2 water line. It came out perfect. No sticking, even tho I didn’t add a little oil as I usually do in a pot. No constant stirring or worrying about the foam that forms when using a pot to boil pasta. I also used the strainer part & no water remained. Easy cleanup. Such a fantastic idea & a big help in the kitchen. Being Italian, I found this such a novel idea that I will be telling my friends. thank you!

Thanks for the efficient and speedy delivery. I have tried it out and can recommend it to anyone looking for a quick pasta meal, cooked to perfection. With the arrival also of the Fasta Pasta recipe book, it opens up even more possibilities.

Used for first time, pasta turned out perfect using the guidelines. For me, it would be better if the water level markings stood out more. I'm elderly and had difficulty reading them. Much easier than the big pot of boiling water.

(Minor edit at bottom)I am a big pasta fan; as a grad student I didn’t have much time to cook so I ate it every other night, but it was always a pain to have to go through the whole process of waiting for it to boil and then struggling to strain it. So when I learned I could do it all in the microwave, I thought it was too good to be true.Yust put your pasta in a measuring cup first to figure out the portion size and follow the recommended water level and time for the portions/type of pasta. At first I would watch the microwave like a hawk, scared it’d blow up or something. But it worked perfectly fine, and though it was scary pulling it out of the microwave for the first time, it was SO EASY to strain. But while it worked I wondered if the hassle of checking on it was worth it, and if I should return it. But I decided to keep giving it a shot, and once I felt comfortable, just went with the recommended times without constantly checking the microwave.Y’all, I can’t go back after this. It is so easy to plop in and forget about it until the timer goes off, mix the pasta a bit so nothing gets stuck, and put it in again. No worries about it boiling over from being unattended, and SO MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN. Having a strainer built in is the BEST THING EVER no more almost burning myself. If you are a college student, know one, have a small kitchen (or no kitchen), don’t like cooking, or simply love pasta and want an easy way to make it, GET THIS. I wish I had known about this when I lived in a dorm, I would have used it all the time.EDIT: I have moved apartments, and tragically the fasta pasta doesn't work with my microwave because it is 1) very small, and 2) is always turning so a long container is not gonna work out. So if you're using a tiny microwave from Target like I am, it's not going to work out. I imagine this could be a potential problem in dorms, so essentially if your microwave's turn table doesn't turn off, and it is small, you may be out of luck. I have sadly had to return to using the stovetop.

This works great when over the road. I freeze my sauce and make my noodles when needed. Keep an eye on it cause it will bubble over and make a mess in your microwave.

Many years ago I bought this item in a foggy white. It was easy to see the water fill lines for the various size pasta you're making, but it's pretty much impossible with the red version. I will probably hunt down a white one and buy that.Be sure to remove the lid when microwaving the pasta. You'll have a mess if you don't. The lid is just for measuring the spaghetti and serving as a drainer for the water after the pasta has finished cooking.Very poor choice because the fill lines are so hard to see. Maybe three stars is too generous.

This thing is great. It works well and fits my microwave just fine.I usually cook a big batch of fettuccine at once so sometimes a bit of the ends clump together and don't get cooked all the way through, but it's really not bad. It'd probably be fine if I stopped it part way through and moved the noodles around a bit to separate them. Or just didn't cook a ton at once. The first time I used it I cooked 1 or 2 servings and it came out perfect.I like that I can just set it and let it cook. It has nice measurements lines on both sides so you can more accurately measure while holding it and not having to set it down on a flat surface. And even if there are some stiff ends, I still love that I can cook a whole bunch at once and have leftovers.

I was hesitant at first but this product is actually really good it cooked my Whole Wheat Pasta (85g) in 16mins using a 1 Kilowatt Microwave using about 350-400ML of water and it cooked that perfectly no getting stuck or having to stir the pasta every 2 1/2 mins and the strainer works really great you just have to get used to handling so the first few times I would strain it with caution watch your fingers and do it slowly once you get used to it easy! The cleanup was very easy simply strain dump the pasta into the bowls and give it a rinse in the sink and it's brand new ready to be used again to me using this was way easier than boiling it it may take a little longer but you don't have to get up to stir it every 2 seconds then having burnt stuck noodles in the bottom of the pot to clean this product you will have no issues with noodles being stuck.

I wasn't sure with the product when it first arrived but now it is utilised very regularly. It is so simple to use and it cooks pasta to perfection every time. Just pop in the amount of pasta you require, cover with water to the upper graduated mark, into the microwave for 10 minutes set to high and that is it. It is important not to put the lid on when it is in the microwave. The lid is put on after it comes out so that you can drain the pasta, the water comes out of slits in the lid at one end. You just drain the pasta, take off the lid, allow it to steam for a minute and then pour the pasta into a serving bowl or directly onto a plate. The hard shiny surface makes it a breeze to clean with just a soft cloth and soapy water.Virtually an idiot proof way of cooking excellent pasta.

I had bought one when these first came out...loved it and used it to death. After many years, bought a new one and used that one forever. Did some cleaning and now can't find my cooker (did it accidentally get thrown out or boxed?) so I just bought this red one, the others were clear. Well, my husband used it for the first time tonight (it arrived yesterday) and he loves it. He has been doing the cooking since my RA kicked in big-time. He was always boiling a pot of water, then adding the pasta, then having to use a strainer.... This makes it so easy. Just measure your pasta with the holes provided on the straining lid, add the proper amount of water and nuke with the lid off. In 12 1/2 minutes we were eating Stove-Pipe pasta with Alfredo Sauce. He loved the ease of this and the speed. After we ate, he went back and cooked himself another portion. This even cooks potatoes and veggies, draining is easy -- once your pasta is done, put the lid on and drain. Only have to wash the one container. Not too heavy if you can't lift those heavy pots of boiling water to drain... This cooks enough for 4 people, tops, I would guess. Maybe with Angel Hair pasta more would fit in, also elbow noodles because they are small. With the large Ziti or Rigatoni you may not be able to cook as much at once because of the space of the holes in the noodles. This is PERFECT for one or two servings. No more leftover pasta...you can always have fresh cooked pasta to put your sauce onto. I've even bought these as gifts and the recipients loved it. I did push it once or twice when company was over and cooked a 12 oz pack of Spaghetti, filled water to the top water-line and nuked. It worked. We mainly just cook for 2 and I wouldn't be without this.
