My home (and I suspect most homes) have come to using "power strips." You know those useful and often necessary plastic multi-receptacle expansion extension cords that allow you to plug in a number of devices from one wall receptacle. These "strips" are great for letting you get everything plugged in. Great, until you have one of those oversized transformer bricks that come on some printers, scanners or even some monitors (this is where you fill in the blank based on what you've got to plug in). These "bricks" can take up from one-to-three receptacle spots, sometimes creating the need to add yet another "strip" just to get everything taken care of! Cue these short "Outlet Saver" power cords! Like I said, if you've used them before, you already know how great they are, and if you haven't you should buy some. They save the day, and not just when using power strips. They are also useful for allowing you to use both of the spots in household wall receptacles. These Savers have the traditional straight-in "male" plug ends, but you can get them in the newer style that has a 90 degree flat plug for spots that need more clearance, say slipping the power strip under low-to-the-floor furniture. (I wouldn't be concerned about tight clearance and heat because if your equipment is causing that much heat at the receptacle you'd better not use that equipment and should call an electrician!) Anyway, these short Outlet Savers really are very handy and useful, plus the ten-pack saves you a ton of money. Highly recommended!

I bought these so I could plug in "wall warts", which are the power supplies on the end of a cord. The power supplies are too big to plug in side by side on a plug strip, UPS, or wall receptacle and some have the wrong orientation of the plug, so they end up sideways. These short extensions allows everything to fit on the plug strip or wall receptacle. They are a definite must for many of my applications. Length and flexibility are perfect.
