Easy to install and fixed my burnt transformer now my water softer is up and running for a great cheap repair cost verses buying a whole new system.

I have an old intercom in my home and I wanted to trigger the electronic chime when someone rings the bell. My existing wire is 22 AWG so shouldn't exceed 0.92 amps. This transformer generates enough current to power the doorbell and the relay (which triggers the electronic chime). I initially bought a 10 VA transformer which was good enough for the doorbell but didn't generate enough current close the circuit of the relay.

It worked very well to replace the defective transformer for my water softener. It now has a green light that illuminates all the time. The light is kinda cool to have but you may wanna think about it if you are using the transformer in a bedroom or living room.

Needed to replace an transformer on a Christmas decoration and this had the same rating so I gave it a try. Well made and works for what I needed but the green LED light on the unit is VERY bright, even after I tried to cover it with tape so it wouldn't be seen. Also, the housing is a little larger than needed but since I'm not using it for it's intended purpose that may not matter to anyone else.

I purchased it in April & it was working fine. I like that the green light tells me if it still works. Today 8/8/17 it stopped working. Green light is out. I was using this for my water softener. Don’t know if it has a warranty.I tried contacting the company & no luck. Amazon refunded my money. Hopefully I can find one that last longer.

I used this transformer to create a 24VAC "common" for my new Ecobee3 Lite smart thermostat. I just had a new Peerless Boiler installed and the hydrostat that was used did not have any low voltage common hookups. It had the standard 2x T hookups for the thermostat. I ran a new 18-5 wire from the thermostat to the boiler and used 2 for the R and W to hookup to both T and T at the hydrostat. I added a GFCI outlet at the on/off switch to hook this "MG Electrontics 24VAC transformer" up to to feed my C and RC wires. Once everything was installed it worked like a charm. The green LED is nice for troubleshooting so I know if the power is out at the outlet.
