I am not the type of person to take stars away from a product because I may have had to mod it or adjust it a little ...Especially at this wonderfully low price point .This is one of those products ..It DOES need a washer as others have saidI am using this on a 2" heavy duty hitch carrier , connected to the back of our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Limited S.Let me tell you , it did not work even a little bit when I first installed it . Loose , shifting side to side with too much movement .I am an Electrician , so I have a lot of what we call conduit couplers. Pressure fitting compression connectors ....I took the end of a half inch coupler , the part that screws onto the end of the conduit , using it as a SPACER instead of 10 washers stacked together , which introduces more noise probabilities , and placed it between the big bolt end , the side you use the socket on , and the OUTISDE of the hitch and tightened it down ...Holy smokes people . I went from ready to return this , to this thing feels like it's WELDED to the hitch . I mean that everybody . There is not even a centimeter of movement on our hitch. Completely solid and static connection from our hitch carrier to the hitch receiver ...Zero noise , zero movement .......I will repeat ......ZERO !I could not be happier or feel more secure if this thing was really welded to it ...Trust me , this non rattle bolt is a Homerun ..Lastly , to mod it even further , I took a little luggage lock and placed it through the 2nd pin hole on the bolt . Now it has the cotter pin to hold it from unscrewing , And it now has a tiny theft deterrent that may thwart would be thieves .How do ya like dem' apples naysayers and downvoters of the world ?Buy it , mod it , and never think about it again . When it comes to our annual spring break vacation to Las Vegas , piece of mind is worth a hundred times what we paid for this ...Hope this helps someone down the line ...Thanks as always to Amazon Prime for getting it here quicker than the Millenium Falcon makes the jump to Hyper Space . Prime is the only subscription in our house to be paid first . It's like having your mom or dad working in the shipping industry! .. We .Love, Love, and LOVE our Amazon Prime !!!!!!!!!!!

It looked like my little 2-pack ziplock pouch had been kicked around a warehouse in the bottom of the cardboard box for months, nicked and dinged metal and scratched anodizing. I love the way my new-to-me car looks, but my bike rack and tow ball don't need to be pretty. The price was right and the functionality is perfect.

Haven't used it yet but seems to be a very well built and sturdy item. Like how the sleeve is one piece with a knurled knob on the end.

Cleaned up the rattle from the hitch in the receiver. It has a cute little cotter pin, a standard one would be nice tho.

This kit is well built. Installation was simple and they completely eliminated the receiver rattle. Stayed tight after a 3 hour trip. Would highly recommend.

This hitch tightener works perfectly. Easy and quick to install. Extremely high quality and well made solid components. I do not understand the poor ratings. This device does not need any washers as some noted. It is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the others and the threaded spacer tube is a better design than the loose tube on the other models. Highly recommended.
