This is the best carabiner I've ever found. I use them for my keys.

Ok, I’m not a climber. I use carabiners to secure stuff to my pack or other mundane functions. I do like nice equipment that works just right and feels good. I bought my first Metolius carabiners while on vacation in Switzerland some years ago. Imagine my surprise when I realized they were produced in Bend, Oregon, just 300 miles from my home! They have been used extensively, including in salt water, and the finish is still perfect and they work just like new.

I use this for carry keys everyday but I trust in that since it's also rated for climbing purposes (please check the specs) I use it for hanging heavier things occasionally. It's a great value for a real strength rated carabiner so it's more then durable enough for the casual key carrier, it's not heavy like industrial clamps, and it's easy to open but hard to accidentally open.

I don't mountain climb or rappel cliff faces. I bought this because cheap store bought key clips weren't getting the job done. After having issues with the flimsy gates on other carabiners sticking open and dropping my keys, I upgraded to this serious piece of hardware. I didn't want to take a chance with a several hundred dollar fob. This carabiner is the perfect size, it functions perfectly, and it looks great! I was a little worried that it would be to large, or the gate would be too stiff for key use, but it's perfect. It's super smooth and high quality.

I have two of these caribiners now and I absolutely love them. I use one for my keys so I can attach my keys to my book bag or my belt loop of my pants. The second caribiner is attached to my water bladder backpack that I use for snowboarding/mountain biking/ trail running. I keep it mostly so I have something to clip my dog's leash onto and then can attach the leash to a tree while I stretch for trail running. I actually was able to use the carabiner as a makeshift attachment for the shoulder straps of my water bladder backpack when I was snowboarding and it worked perfectly. I can not attest to this when used for climbing but the specs are really great. The caribiner is extremely light, compact, and very strong which is great because I keep paracord on my keychain also and could use the two together with a little inventiveness in an emergency. I have had non load bearing caribiners and they always snap with just regular usage, these caribiners have not and I imagine will not snap with regular use. Overall great product, heck I've already bought two and I don't even use them for climbing. I rate it 5/5 for overall usefullness

I love this carabiner!First it should be noted that I will never use this for climbing. I love carabiner though and I have many climbing rated ones. This is by far the smallest rated one I have been able to find. It is the size of a cheapo (seen in the picture) key chain one with the huge benefit of having a climbing rating. If you don't know what that means, it means it can withstand a dymanic load. Ever seen a picture of people mountain climbing up hanging from the side of a sheer cliff face? They could use this and trust their life to it.This is the perfect size for using on a keyring , a dog leash / tie out, on your backpack, or anyplace else you may need a study carabiner. Buy one, you'll love it.

Excellent construction and finish. I bought 6 of these and use them in attaching hammock suspension to python straps. While I can't speak to other uses, they work very well for this. The spring of the wire gate is excellent, it opens easily and stays shut when released as expected. I prefer the wire gate to the standard carabiner gate. Easy to use, lightweight and climbing rated. Color is pretty nice too. I would purchase again without reservation. Excellent product from excellent company.

Light. Good gate opening.I'm spoiled on several petzl anges so I was surprised when this snagged on one of my first uses. After using petzl products for years you can feel the lack strength on the gate spring for other brands. Especially their light weight models.Camp Nano 22 is a better biner than this one imo. The metolius FS mini (this one) is significantly smaller than both the petzl ange and camp nano. Weight is around 24g.
