The base skids and slips on the wooden floor when you step on it pretty much all the time. All of us almost fell multiple times when we were not used to it at first. Also, the measuring rod comes off the base about 1/4 inch when the sliding baffle is moved up and down during measurements, resulting in inaccurate measurements. Overall, it's a very flimsy product and not well-made. And I wouldn't have paid $80 for it knowing what I know now, but it somehow gets the job done so I'll just keep it. I won't recommend it for sure.

The Portable Stadiometer Accurate Height Measurement Height Measuring Rod is more accurate in my opinion than an old fashion ruler because of the sliding surface that sit on top of the child's head while you measure. It is a lot easier with wiggly kids to use this as well. I think this is great for both a professional setting but also at home.
