The aluminum frame on this scaffolding plank consists of aluminum extrusions running down both sides of the plywood deck with three stiffeners made from galvanized sheet steel. While the stiffeners are attached to the aluminum extrusions, they ARE NOT attached to the plywood deck which is where the design flaw comes in. Without completing a partial box section (stiffeners to plywood) the assembly flexes, and under extreme pressure would allow the deck to partially come out.To fix this problem, two 1' to 1-1/2" long carriage bolts should be added to EACH stiffener flange thatmates with the plywood. The unit I received had one end of the extrusion bent out, and the plywood was not in the square groove of the extrusion.
