A bit pricey per length but I only needed a small piece. Unfortunately you cannot buy just a short piece at the home center or hardware store. But per inch this is about 3x the cost of buying a 3 foot length!

I was really happy to be able to buy just a short length of rectangular tubing, as I wanted to make an enclosure for a 4K USB camera that came without one. This ended up working out just fine with a little bit of effort, but there are a couple things to watch out for.First, this is very thin-walled tubing. It's not structural in any sense, more decorative. The second potential pitfall is related to the first - while this is suitable for decorative uses, it arrives in a bag and has a very rough mill finish with lots of tiny burrs and scratches, some of which it probably picked up in transit. It's not like the smooth clear anodized extrusion you might buy at the big box store.This did not bother me, because I cut the endcaps for my camera enclosure oversized and then belt sanded them to match the boundaries of the extrusion once they were installed. I ended up with a nice brushed finish on the exterior, save for a couple small dings that were too deep to sand out.Just be sure that you are not expecting something highly decorative with a pristine finish when you order this. It's useful and priced fairly, but a bit rough cosmetically.
