I do like the simplicity of the design, material and ease of use. The one concern I have is the slight possibility of leaking. I thought of putting a thin rubber or vinyl seal around the edges to prevent possible leaks but couldn't find the right size for a snug fit. Overall, it's a good product that should work to expectations.

I ordered the storm collar to fit around my existing 12-in fireplace outside piping, to deflect rain off the top of the flashing. However, there wasn't any exact dimensions on the description of the new item, the new collar was made to fit an exact 12-in pipe, and the actual fireplace pipe is 12.5 in, would not fit , too small, could not fasten the connector strap. The best way I found to measure the outside of the existing fireplace pipe is with two framing squares held together. I do not see in the Amazon description of the item, the size of the inside of the collar to fit the outside of the existing pipe.

Absolutely worthless. Advertised as 10” but is an inch or two to small. Read other reviews and same thing. Very flimsy and way to narrow to ack as a storm collar. Don’t waste your hard earned money. Company should be investigated for false advertising. Outrageous price for something that doesn’t even fit.

Does not fit my application. Trying to return it and they want 18 dollars to ship it back. Totally unacceptable. It doesn’t even weigh 1 pound and it took 2 weeks to be delivered.

I use this collar on a 6 inch pipe for preventing water from the roof penetration in a rain storm from getting on my wood fired refractory cement outdoor oven. If I had to do it over, I might try to make my own.

The collar is only 2” wide! Not a great size for a drip collar

I ordered an 11" collar. The collar I received was marked SBC 10". Due to the adjustable tab slot it does fit around an 11" pipe. However, there is very little overlap at the joint. Worse yet, the installed angle is very shallow. A storm collar should have a 30° to 45° slope. This is less than 10° on an 11" pipe. Being that it is only 2" wide it provides very little "umbrella" effect over the flashing joint. Had I known they were going to substitute a even size, I would have ordered the 12". The tab slot would not have worked but I would have enough material to cover the flashing with a nice slope.
