This is not very well designed to stay on the cage. Its arms are all weird and it isn't a good fit for my cages. I am constantly propping it back up. It does home food and let the other stuff fall thru.

WORST DESIGN EVER.There's a lip inside the fillable area that restricts the flow of feed so much that you have to push the feed down daily. It also has terrible clips that are poorly designed so the container hangs loose on the outside of your cage. It also has no lip to protect the feed from being paw'd out by the rabbits, and we are literally wasting an entire feed container worth of feed which falls on the ground probably every 4 days or so.We had a different feeder in the past and I sincerely regret listening to the reviews and purchasing four of these. TRASH! How are there so many positive reviews. Every feeder of this that we have has TONS of wasted food on the ground which is just scraped out by the rabbits. Maybe they are fighting a patent for another feeder, but these differences makes this one of the worst feeders on the market.

Works great for our rabbit. Would buy again if I needed to. Love the mesh bottom!

Have a rabbit hutch in the backyard, and prior to having this feeder, I was utilizing a dish that simply clamped onto the wire meshing to fill with rabbit pellets. The rabbits would knock the dish down constantly, spilling pellets everywhere, and it had to be refilled daily. It was a real hassle considering the rabbit hutch is pretty far from the house, and trudging through snow and ice to fill it daily was at times a struggle. The feeder has cut the time in half for refills, and it works flawlessly. It hangs on the outside of the hutch, and it only takes seconds to cut through the wire mesh (I used tin snips) to fit the bottom portion through the wire. It holds 3-5 days' worth of pellet feed and the rabbits cannot spill it or make a mess of the feeder. The feeder stays very clean and it's easy to see when it's empty. I posted a photo showing the feeder on the LEFT side, as there is a camera inside the rabbit hutch so the family can keep an eye on the rabbits as needed. For those who are considering rabbits for pets...they must have at least one companion, preferably kept outdoors. These animals do not do well alone, and they need space. It's cruel to keep these animals in a small cage, they need a space to run around in with plenty of bedding/hay. Do not keep a single rabbit unless you can give it attention daily, and you don't mind it using your home as a giant bathroom. Rabbits are messy and prefer COLD weather, they're adapted to easily handle temps down to -40F and colder. They prefer cold weather climates. My best advice is to avoid rabbits altogether. They're furry and cute but they don't like being held and their rear legs will tear you up if you're not careful. If you already have rabbits in an outdoor hutch, this feeder is a must. 5 stars.

I thought that his feeder would work with my Rat’s food since their food is pretty small and slim. It does not drop anymore food down into the trough even though there is food in the upper part. I have to stick my finger up under the lip at least once a day to get the food to fall down. In conclusion, if you were using this for Rabbits or animal that has a more small cylindrical food, I’m sure it would work better. But for Rats, I would look elsewhere. I’ve had this feeder for a month or so and have no other problems with it other than the food not falling down.

Oh boy! I’ve bought three different food bowls for my rabbits before finally landing on this one. I have two indoor rabbits. The first ceramic bowl was too small and the rabbits tossed them around, spilling food out everywhere. The second, a thick-plastic, highly-rated brand had a spot for hay and food. But the hay part didn’t function well, the food portion collected too much dust, and one of my rabbits ate it (the bowl). The third that I bought was a gravity feeder designed for indoor cages. Like many other plastic gravity feeders - it wouldn’t gravity. The food became inaccessible to the bunnies. This feeder is great! It’s 1) metal - my hungry bunny can’t eat it. 2) an actually functioning gravity feeder. It has a wide base and food replenishes easily as my rabbits eat. 3) it has dust holes built into it. Be prepared to have a dust pile under it, but at least it’s not blocking the food. The one downside is that I had to cut my rabbits’ indoor cages in order to fit this on them. I knew that going into it and since so many other bowls were failing us it was worth the try for me. I should have just started with this one.

I purchased this small animal feeder because we were having a problem with one of our rabbits chewing through their plastic feeders and spilling the food, leaving no place to contain food. This feeder attached easily to the side of the cage and stopped the rabbit from destroying her feeders.
