This is a set of 4 mesh fly boots. Their unique shape had me doubting their ability to stay in place, but I stand corrected as they're some of the better fly boots I've used. They're breathable and leave plenty of room between the legs and the wrap itself for air to move in and out and the mesh material keeps the annoying insects away. The way they close at the top and bottom prevents bugs from crawling up through the bottom or down through the top. Even though they pick up and hold onto dirt and dust easily they can also be as easily cleaned with the hose.

The first thing to know about these fly boots is they are not the typical stiff mesh that is open on the top. Since many flies that pester horses tend to cluster around the lower extremities, the stiff open type are often effective. It is possible to get in there however, as well as other insects, or debris like hay. These fly boots have Set a top and bottom, lined with a very soft fleece. Unlike with traditional fly boots, critters or debris are effectively prevented from entering. The mesh is very fine, and stands well away from the leg which should keep most insect irritation from happening. They are also fairly soft, and should overall seem more comfortable than most of the stiff kind. The construction is robust feeling, and the fleece is thick enough to provide some comfort in contact with the horse.

While we ordered the fly boots in dark blue, we ended up with black. It's a bit odd since black isn't even an option, but the color isn't a deal-breaker for me. Functionality is more important, and these boots deliver. The mesh material and overall construction seem very durable and high-quality. My daughter's horse is boarded in a fly-infested area, so he wears boots like these all summer long. The mesh design keeps them lightweight and breathable, which is crucial for comfort in hot weather. They slip on easily and fit him well, staying securely in place even with movement. So far, these boots have been a lifesaver in keeping the flies away from his legs. He seems much more comfortable, and we're happy with the purchase. Realistically, I don't expect any fly boots to last forever with how hard horses can be on them, but these seem well-made enough to hold up for a good while. The color discrepancy is a minor inconvenience, but the quality and functionality of the boots make up for it. If you're looking for reliable fly protection for your horse, these mesh boots are worth considering.

These are a must if you have lots of flies like we do this season. They are lightweight and easy to put on. Mesh, so they won't hold in heat. Seem to be comfortable for my hotse. Fit well. Good quality and durable.

Overall these are generally decent fly boots. They are made of a good quaity mesh, go on very easily, and fit well. We felt the stay could be more firm and they could use something soft at the bottom to prevent rubbing/chafing. We were disappointed that they didn't cover more of the foot.

I thought I was going to love these when I first put them on her. Granted, they look like the MC Hammer pants of fly boots, but they worked...until they didn't.The first photo is after 24 hours and a few hours of turnout. Great! The second photo is at 48 hours where they started looking like 1980's slouchy leg warmers. Annoying for her and not very effective. The material is great, thick enough to keep the flies off but thin enough to allow air through, but the stays didn't hold them up and the elastic held them down once they slouched. Keeping them up requires human interaction not physics so I would not get these again. If your horse has little pencil legs they might work, or for a small pony, but on my 16.1 mare this wasn't the best solution.

These are super lightweight and well ventilated. The size is fairly small, so they fit my 14.2 hh horse really well. They do appear to stay up and seem comfortable for the horse. I don't know that they would last beyond a 3 to 4 month summer of daily use, but even that much use is worth the price point of $25.00. Overall, these are pretty good and have strong velcro as well.
