This is one of the handiest safes around. I first encountered them in Casino Hotel rooms the exact same brand. It sure is nice to be able to lock up your valuables without worrying about leaving the house. I figured if Casinos use these safes they must be reliable. One neat item is that you can always input the same combination or any combination on the fly.

After traveling and staying in different hotels, I decided to get a hotel safe for my home. I chose this brand and was very impressed with the quality of the product. It is a very solid and heavy safe designed to keep your valuables out of the hands of amateurs. This product would receive five stars except for a quality control issue and lack of mounting screws. The door of the safe was slightly off center causing the door to rub when closing. I had to unscrew the cover inside the safe the readjust the door. The safe only comes with two screws that are not adequate to secure the safe. I had to go to the hardware store to get additional mounting screws to secure it and prevent an unwanted removal. I love the option of entering a personal code or using a credit card to access the safe. If you purchase this product, remember to change the default master code from 0000000. Most criminals have a list of default codes that manufactures use on safes and owners neglect to change. For example, 123456 or 012345. Over all I have opened and locked the safe several times using different codes and the safe worked flawlessly. I would definitely purchase this product again. DISCLAIMER! I did NOT receive compensation or discounts for this review.

Great safe. Well made with thick gauge steel.Battery powered main operation is smooth, but noisy. This is exactly like the ones you have used at any hotel.I installed this in my home, and I like it a lot. The price is right as well.

Works like a dream. You can program one number to use all the time or use it like it's used in a hotel room were you need to program a different or same number everytime you use it (which takes only seconds to do). Program 3 to 6 numbers to lock. I prefer 3, because this allows the fastest access to the safe if you use it to store a gun. If someone tries to figure out the code the key pad locks down for 15 minutes (this is the default setting) after 3 failed input attempts to open. The lock down pad feature time can be adjusted from 1 minute to 15 minutes. When you enter your combo to open you just press in your number and it unlocks automaticly. Very simple to use. You can use right out of the box or you can program in a lot of different features. I also like the override feature (programing in your credit card to unlock). If you forget your combo you can slide your credit card to open and overide the key pad. This safe can be bolted to the floor or wall. I looked at a lot of safes and this is by far the best value.

I have 2. One I have had for 3 yrs and the other for a year. Both work great...BUT..... the first one started not locking....and I would have to bump it or push it. After about 2-3 months I got mad and took it apart. Half of the screws were loose inside the mechanism. I tighten them all and its worked great the past 2 years. The second came and the door hinge was bent. I had to use some giant screw drivers and drivers and some BIG hammers to get the door back in shape. After a few weeks I had the same weird won't lock problem. Took it apart, tightened everything. I also had to re-solder some of the contacts.... It works perfectly. So its a good product but the assembly quality control and the shipping really hurt this produce.

The safe was chosen for my son's dorm room at college. It was to hold his laptop (17" screen) and other electronic items. It was returned the next day.The Good: The safe lock mechanism seemed to work well. We inserted the batteries and the display on the door came to life. A code was entered on the keypad and the door locked smoothly. The Bad: Based on the interior dimensions of the safe the laptop should have fit easily, however, the box for the mechanism on the back of the door gets in the way when trying to insert a large object since the door does not swing past 90 degrees. The laptop had to be inserted at an odd angle and twisted to get it in. I can foresee damage to the laptop after a number of these insertions and extractions. The Ugly: The battery compartment on the back of the door was loose. The inner door cover was hanging loose and had a screw missing which was found inside the safe. The paint was chipped on the exterior of the safe. The corner of the door opening was cracked. Worst yet the door was misaligned and would not close or open without great physical effort.Bottom Line: The safe has quality control issues. If you are looking for a safe which can hold a smaller laptop you might want to give this one a try. The locking features are good. If you experience the same problems don't worry, Amazon's return system is great. I went to the order page, hit the "Available actions" button, chose "Return items" and followed the directions. UPS was at my door the next day to pick up the item for return.PS: Somewhere I read that the safe came with 3/4 inch bolts to secure the safe to studs or the floor. I therefore assumed 3/4 inch holes in the safe to insert a cable lock to hold the safe to the dorm bed frame. The holes are much smaller. It seems that the head of the bolt measures 3/4 inch. The cable lock I bought in advance will have to be returned as well.
