I'm really disappointed with these Memorex DVD-Rs. The price was great, but they do not work at all with my NEC DVD burner. I tried multiple ones from different positions in the cakebox and nothing works. I'm using Sonic as the burning software and it just makes an attempt and then says it fails. I've tried burning through Windows and had the same results. I now have 50 worthless coasters sitting on my desk.I was not trying to burn any protected material. These are movies I took myself of our newborn son. Now I have to go try and buy another brand of media. I would return these to Amazon but the return shipping cost on my dime would cost more than I paid in the first place. Very unhappy.

I am surprised to find so many negative reviews about Memorex. I have been using Memorex CDs and DVDs exclusively for almost a decade. Apart from a few discs here and there, its been a great experience. Some points about how I use them:1- I never let any software (e.g DVD authoring s/w like Ulead or Roxio) directly burn to disc. I create a DVD folder and then I always use Nero for burning disc.2- If you're burning disc for long-term storage, burn at a slower speed, so there's no chance of any skipping. I always burn at 4x, someimes 8x.A few precautions (best practices) go a long way towards avoiding problems. All I can say is that every single disc from years ago still works, to the best of my knowledge. As I mentioned before, I have been using Memorex for storing precious memories for years. I find them a great value for money.

I have been using Memorex dvd-r blank media for more than a year and have gotten fine recordings with my new dvd player/recorder. Not all of my recordings were successful, no product I know is 100% perfect, but the majority have been successful with Memorex dvd blank media. This 50-pack spindle was purchased from Amazon because I know I can rely on them to give you the best in quality and value plus free shipping. Moreover, I have never really been disappointed with anything purchased from Amazon. After trying many dvd-r blank media, I found Memorex dvd-r spindles to be affordable and reliable for a better than average performance.
