We love everything about it except the paper ripper is completely unfunctional. There has to be a better solution for tearing the paper. Very cumbersome and fails to tear the paper cleanly all the times we have tried

Bought as a gift for granddaughter and then discovered it came with no supplies. But that was my fault for not reading description thoroughly. My daughter said it was difficult to assemble and would be inconvenient to use an allen wrench each time you wanted to fold it; however, she said it was sturdy once assembled. Had I read description carefully, I would not have ordered this one but one that came with a few supplies.

This was not the same as pictured. I already have an easel that got ruined, the real one has bright colored trays and knobs, harder sturdier trays with deep cups for paint cups and crayons. This DOES NOT, it's thin pinkish red soft plastic trays that are shallow and would not hold paint cups. Also in a different configuration. The picture I included shows the real kind in the background picture with the chalkboard, you can compare it to the picture with the girl in the front the tray labeled D is not the same as the one in the back picture, which would be facing behind the chalkboard, compare the sides and depth visible. This DOES NOT match the advertisement either. Melissa and Doug is investigating this. Have not found a way to talk to a human at Amazon anymore. What a shame.Update from manufacturer, after investigating they told me this was a genuine product and they changed them without updating the pictures in a timely fashion. The quality has gone down from the old style. I would only purchase this if it is on sale or you are prepared to sand rough spots on wood and have shallower paint cup holders.

Grandchild is enjoying her birthday gift. All parts were accounted for, and assembly was easy, though time consuming. A nice touch would be to sell with the appropriately sized paper roll. The magnetic blackboard holds the included magnets, but other magnets don't work well on it.

Muy buena compra. Fácil de armar. Tiene muy buen tamaño para los niños aprox de 3 años en adelante, lo puedes ir ajustando la altura. Aprenden mientras se divierten. Y el que tenga todas las opciones (pintaron, pizarron y para imanes) lo hace muy versátil y divertido para los niños!

Le regalamos este caballete a mi niño de año y medio y le encantó. Puede ajustarse a tres alturas, siendo la más baja adecuada para niños que miden menos de 90cm y la más alta que sigue siendo cómoda para alguien de 160cm. Los materiales son de primera, las instrucciones sencillas y fácil de armar. Yo cupé el pizarron para que funcione mejor, pero no es indispensable, con gises regulares para niño escribe perfecto. No le hemos encontrado ningún pero. La caja llegó rota y pegada con cinta adhesiva, mas el Caballete estaba intacto, por lo que no fue necesario hacer devolución o reclamaciones. Hay otra versión sin pizarrón magnético un poco más económico, pero sin duda creo que vale la pena invertir un poco más en éste.

Update: Had this for 3 years now and it’s still great!Took a while to put together. But it’s a nice easel and easy to use once it’s all set up. It has a magnetic chalk board on one side and a dry erase board on the other side. Easy to open and close. Larger than I was imagining but it is good that it has 3 adjustable heights. I think our kitchen is just small and that’s where it is right now. The lowest height is perfect for my 2.5 year old. I bought more magnetic letters and numbers for it since all it comes with for letters is the alphabet which you can’t make many words with. I think she will get many years of use out of this easel.

I did a lot of research on easels as this was going to be the big Christmas gift for my 4 year old. I ultimately decided to go with this one because I know Melissa and Doug products to be well made. I chose this one over the original M & D easel because I liked that this was magnetic as well. Well, it exceeded my expectations! It takes a little time, but it’s fairly easy to put together. It’s very sturdy. I’m not sure why previous reviewers said it was cheap or flimsy. I don’t see that at all. Also the chalk board works perfectly from the first use. It didn’t need to be “seasoned” like other easel chalk boards. I can see where folding it may be a bit of a nuisance, but if you don’t need to fold it regularly it shouldn’t be a problem. My son really loves it!

Melissa and Doug products as always are great both quality and innovative.. little overpriced but as it wasn't available anywhere i got it for my lil one . Easy set up very detailed drawings provided in the kit and with the accessory kit it's a charm my daughter loves It and is busy with it . Amazon great job with the packaging and delivery

Just put it together. Easy to put together but it took about a hour. I thought as well that the long screws were not long enough, but they were, i had to make sure metal brackets at the top were turned to the inside then everything fit great.I have 2-3 year old grand kids and a tall 5 year old. I put the boards at lowers spot and it looks like all will be able to use it.Very sturdy, large trays. Looks great! Well built. Magnets work great, roll of paper works good but is designed for only one side. I willneed to get clips so that two kids can use paper. No biggy.

Setup was fairly easy... if you have an eye for detail. Took my father and I about 30-45 minutes from unboxing to finished product. I heard others complain that the magnets are not very strong, we didn't experience this problem. Tons of storage space for chalk and markers and whatever else you decide to add and the adjustable height ensures it will grow with your little ones! My niece loves it!
