My nephew loved this Xylophone and it works as intended. The metal keys are pretty well made but my only concern would be the durability of the wooden part as i've seen some wear on it from being hit on by the mallets. Other than that this is a great boy for any kid who likes music!

Purchased for my 1 year old that loves making sounds and noises. He enjoys playing with it. Nice quality product, love that the materials are mostly wood. The Xylophone is durable, he has thrown it across the floor and nothing has broken. It’s nice that the wooden mallets store right into the toy and also make it look more like a caterpillar!

product is exceedingly cute and makes a beautiful sound. I bought this for use in my therapy practice. the value is incredible, for a wood and metal product. I love that it is plastic free. the antennae of the caterpillar serve as the mallets for playing the instrument. it is very sturdy, safe for small kids. 10/10 highly recommend.

Originally bought for my chickens to play with and they love it! The tones are actually very clear other than the G being a bit sharp. But I would definitely buy another for kids! The mallets are the antena which is super cute and great for keeping track of them! Definitely would recommend. Fast shipping too!

As my wife convinces me that Melissa & Doug are the superior children's toy brand, I decided to take it upon meself to replace the pile of steamy crap that is the blessed Xylophone from some unknown family member. So looking up amazon for Melissa & Doug Xylophones, I clicked buy without second thought, TRUSTING HER BLINDLY.To my surprise, while the build quality of this toy is fantastic, with strong rubust mallets and thick wood and metal keys (to be fair nothing could be worse in comparison to the splintering excuse of sushi chopsticks wrapped in rebar shavings of my son's previous toy), I have an Eb, Fb, and a G# on this toy.WHAT, may I ask, is the point of this well-produced out-of-tune toy? My son is going to be playing with this through his young, impressionable age and grow up to sing a demented minor key version of the ABC song! If he develops perfect pitch, it'd be perfectly off key. So, yay to toy, nay for musical accuracy.I give 3/5, which is slightly better than 4/7, the number of accurate keys on the Xylophone I received.
