Meinl is a German company often known for cymbals. They also produce a full line of Latin percussion products and often compete in the same space as LP.These timbales are constructed of hand hammered all brass shells with cast hoops.The hardware, plating and workmanship are first class. More importantly, these are sonically, full bodied, mini timpani drums in the classic sense. The tone is round, rim shots have a very big and full "crack" and the shells sing beautifully.The stands and holder are also very classic and well thought out. Tuning is traditional, wrench style, from the bottom. Highly recommended.
