With its powder coated steel alloy, the Meinl handheld bongo cowbell gives you a tonally rich sound that's on the warm side with naturally muffled overtones from a special steel alloy and coating. This alloy and finish are also highly durable for the heaviest road use. The handheld version is made to be held in the hand while playing to naturally control projection and overtones by altering your grip. This simple design means it can be easily played by any musician with or without percussion experience. For percussionists and drummers, the Meinl bongo cowbell can shape virtually any piece of music. Its response can easily cut through the mix or sit back for lower volume settings. The balanced timbre sounds great under studio microphones, and the bell can open up live on stage to fill large spaces with sound. This cowbell measures 8" long with a medium wide mouth (having a medium mouth opening gives the cowbell a well-rounded, mid-range pitch).

The cowbell is solid! Feel great in my hand and made a really nice sound as well!I don't play in the band but rather DJ at salsa events/festivals and the sound this cowbell produces just works really well in many salsa genres that I played (Romantica/Timba/Dura)5 stars!
