love this unit. it stopped connecting to the camera during one shoot and had to remove it to finish, but it could have come loose. seems to work fine since then.

I was always skeptical of battery grips, but having used this one I really like it. It has additional attachment points if you want to hang it. Vertically around your neck. But even when using it in landscape mode, I like the feel of the camera better with this on. The other guy that said there were gaps, I don't really see that. You do have to kind of push it together as well as screwing it in.This works fine at a much lower price than other battery grips.

Great alternative to the expensive Sony grip. Generic batteries do trigger a warning on the Sony camera. Some of the buttons I found a little sticky especially when set up for back button focus when taking photos.

Good quality. obv doesn't compare to the OEM version which costs five hundred. But for the cost, it's a solid piece of kit for the portrait users.

Works great! Looks great! Feels great! Only thing I don’t like is the when my hand accidentally hits the button. I have big hands though. Not sure if there is a way to turn that off or not would be an awesome feature.

This battery grip is excellent! The feel, fit, and build are absolutely superb. The remote is a little confusing, but if you need one, it works absolutely fine once you figure it out. For the money, I would buy this over the Sony grip every time. If we’re being not picky, the power dial could be more firm, but that’s honestly the only complaint I have and it’s incredibly minor.

I purchased this Meike grip for my a7r IV knowing it was less than 1/3 of the price of the Sony grip...about 70% less than it's Sony counterpart to be more exact. Was not expecting much when it arrived but I must admit that I am pretty impressed. By itself, the battery grip feels lighter than the Sony, and makes you wonder if it is frail or poorly built. Once attached to the camera body, though, it feels solid and provides a VERY comfortable grip for my very large hands. It has performed flawlessly for me and I have used it landscape, vertical and loved the remote intervelometer/shutter. I tested it with 2 x RAV batteries for the last 3 weeks and here are my impressions:PRO:- PRICE - you just have to be impressed with 70% off- Feel - out of the box was not impressed, but attached to the camera it's solid, matches the finish of the a7r IV- On/Off Button on grip- Remote/Intervelometer - also a very nice feature for some landscape work- Battery life - Other reviewers mention battery drain that I did not experience. I don't often use my RAV batteries as I keep them as "back ups" but I saw impressive battery performance equal to my Sony battery + grips- Custom buttons and dialsCONS:- Would have preferred black, not silver, buttons- Doesn't feel as well made when separate from camera- Button depress function is not as smooth as its Sony counterpart- Remote instructions weren't too clear (OK, user error might be an issue, but have to turn battery grip to "Off" for remote release)TO BE DETERMINED:- Durability- WeatherproofingBottom line - if this grip stands the test of time and lasts, then this is THE one if you are looking to avoid the Sony-tax. I will update in the future

Works flawlessly! I have been putting it through my daily paces as a pro and I have no complaints. Feels good in the hand, all the buttons function and do not feel cheap. The remote works wonderfully after i watch how to get it to work on a youtube video. Just press and hold the shutter button on the remote until it triggers the camera.batteries charge while in the grip, and the on/off switch on the grip turns the camera off as well.I can certainly afford the SONY version, but why spend the extra money when you don't have too.

I been thinking about buying a battery grip for a long time now but I couldn’t stomach the $400 price tag of Sony. Then this one came out for the 1/3 of the cost! It fits perfectly and all the buttons are functioning the way it supposed to be, it even have a joystick to control your focus. I was a bit skeptical at first because of the other reviews here about the battery draining, I left it on for a few hours and it seems normal. I’m using all original sony batteries if that makes the difference. Anyways I’m very happy with my purchase and I would recommend to someone on a budget like me lol

I like this grip for the $110 but it's not as good as the Sony A7R4 grip but that cost 3x the price! the grip feeling is very good but the buttons are the worst part compared to the Sony Grip. But again 3 times the cost, this grip is good from Sony A7R4 users that want to had better control of the A7R4 camera with the Sony 200-600 or Sigma 150-600 or the Sony 100-400 lens for the $110 well worth it for this grip. Unless your shooting pro get the Sony grip as it can handle more abuse and usage but again for 3x times the cost. I only have played around for 15 min and so far I am glad I got it over the Sony battery grip! I wished the grip button was black and not silver like the Sony but paint or finder polish will fix that. I am using the original Sony firmware on my A7R4, will report back soon when I update the A7R4 to 1.10.
