Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Will the MEE audio Connect work with all TVs?
Answer: The Connect works with TVs that have at least one supported audio out connection: digital audio out (optical TOSLINK), RCA audio out, or headphone jack. The Optical connection, if available, is generally recommended for best audio performance and flexibility.
Question: Will the Connect Bluetooth Transmitters work with my hearing aids?
Answer: This depends on the hearing aids - it will work with hearing aids that (1) support stereo audio over Bluetooth (the A2DP Bluetooth profile) and (2) can be paired to a Bluetooth device without the use of an app or an additional Bluetooth accessory (same as a headphone). If both (1) and (2) are true, you will be able to pair your hearing aids by putting the hearing aids and the Connect transmitter into Bluetooth pairing mode at the same time.
Question: How do I adjust the volume on my AirPods when using them with a Bluetooth transmitter such as the MEE audio Connect?
Answer: We strongly recommend using a pair of earphones or headphones that has a built-in volume control. That said, if AirPods are your only option, you can adjust the volume by connecting them to your iPhone or iPad, increasing or decreasing the volume, and then pairing them back to the Connect transmitter.
Question: Does using the MEE audio Connect create a lag (delay) in the audio?
Answer: Bluetooth is a digital wireless signal and there is some latency expected due to the coding/decoding steps that must occur, but the Connect is designed to minimize audio lag. In addition to regular Bluetooth audio, the Connect also supports both the aptX and aptX Low Latency audio codecs, which are notable for having lower latency (smaller audio delay) compared to regular Bluetooth audio.
Answer (continued): Using the Connect with a headphone that supports aptX will reduce audio lag, and using it with a headphone that supports aptX Low Latency (highly recommended) will lower the lag to where it is not noticeable at all. The MEE audio Matrix Cinema headphones (ASIN B07B435CTX) provide the best low latency audio experience with MEE audio transmitters.
Question: Can I use the Connect to stream music wirelessly from my phone to a speaker or other non-Bluetooth audio device?
Answer: No, the Connect only works as a Bluetooth transmitter. Transmitters connect to the audio source (such as a TV or computer) using a wire and stream the audio wirelessly to Bluetooth headphones or speakers. In order to stream your music from your phone to a non-Bluetooth speaker, soundbar, or other audio device, a Bluetooth Receiver such as the Connect Hub (ASIN B07DPWR274) is needed.
Question: Do I need to plug the MEE audio Connect into a power source?
Answer: Yes. Although the Connect includes a built-in battery, it still needs to be plugged in to charge. If you are using the Connect with a TV, we recommend keeping it plugged in to a power source at all times for convenience.
Question: Can others still hear my TV / Can I use my TV speakers while using the MEE audio Connect with Bluetooth headphones?
Answer: Yes, depending on the type of audio output your TV has. If your TV has a digital optical audio output (also known as a TOSLINK or Optical S/PDIF connection), then you will be able to use this device with Bluetooth headphones AND hear the TV's built-in speakers simultaneously, so others can still listen to the TV without headphones.

I honestly can’t say enough about these headphones. They’re freaking amazing. They work right out of the box. Connect to the TV. No issues whatsoever and heck they even connected to my Apple AirPods with no problem they can run two different Bluetooth signals simultaneously, which is great A+.

A must for those with hearing loss and struggling to hear voice dialogue. One of the chemotherapy meds prescribed to me causes permanent hearing loss. Beneficial to treat my cancer but with the side effects. Now I’m able to hear everything and enjoy a movie. Controlling my own volume while others can hear through the surround sound speakers.

We already have a MEE up and working on our Sony TV in the family room. It has been a sanity-saver (mine) in our home as my partner likes to listen to sports on LOUD. It paired easily with a set of Jabra headphones. Wanting to save a couple of bucks I ordered another brand of bluetooth transmitter for my living room TV that did not come with an optical cable. Big mistake as it would not work with the TV settings. I returned it and got another MEE. Again, setup was a breeze as MEE includes an audio optical cable. I paired it with my Airpods (another learning experience) but since my pods are older there is no way to control the volume on them. Duh. I treated myself to a pair of JBL headphones and I'm all set. The neat thing about the MEE is that it will recognize your headphones automatically once paired; no plugging or unplugging any device. You just need to make sure to get the correct audio settings on your TV. I'm not a technical wizard by any means but the MEE was so easy to set up, pair and start listening. They have a couple of excellent tutorials on YouTube if you run into problems. Well worth the money.

I really wanted these to work. Spent about 2 hours trying to get these to work consistently but failed. I needed to pair 2 headphones to TV. I did finally get 1 pair to work but it was hit and miss. It did work one time but next time only played out of 1 side. The next time I used them it saidconnected. Unit shows connected but no sound. Tried Headphone jack, RCA connectors, and Optic cable. All no sound. Had to set unit to default and re-pair. Then again only in one side. It took 5 to 6 times after removing headset and re-pairing to get sound. So, I thought maybe it was the headset. I paired them with TV and work fine. Tried several times and they connected and worked every time with TV Bluetooth. But TV will only let you use 1 Bluetooth headset at a time. I am returning and trying another brand.

First off, this product worked very well with Kirkland hearing aids. Set up was effortless (Optical out from TV) and the audio was good. A bit tinny but good. If you are alone and mute the TV speaker they will do what they are supposed to.The problem came when one person is listing to the TV (or other bluetooth speaker) and the other through hearing aids. There is a sound delay (echo) that rapidly becomes annoying. I tried hard to adjust to it but in the end had to send it back.Again, a good product. If you were to use a headset that blocked out the TV speaker or muted the TV speaker they would work fine.

Use it for my tv on an optical cable and works beautifully with a pair of samsung galaxy buds live and a pair of seinnheiser momentum2. Took less than 10mins and i can now do away with the heavy overhead earphones that i am currently using.

It works very well as a TV audio transmitter to a pair (2) of Bluetooth headphones with separate volume adjustment for each. There is no audio lag, pairing and reconnecting takes only a few seconds, there are no any sound quality issues. I fully recommend this product for this purpose.Update after 3 months: it still works flawlessly.

I bought this in 2016, to use with my TV. I wanted to be able to use headphones with the TV via BT, so I wouldn't disturb anyone else. Nothing too fancy about that trick, and it worked fine using the optical output from my TV as the input to the transmitter.I am writing this review 3 years later in 2019 because now I am impressed. The transmitter has been sitting in my drawer for a few years because I no longer needed it for what I bought it for. But I am getting ready to take flight and I wanted to see if I could use it to let my wife and I watch a movie on the iPad, with both of us using wireless headphones. I decided to experiment and see if I could make it work OK.I just got the 2nd generation Apple AirPods and I wanted to see if they would work with this transmitter. They do!! Not only do they work, but I experienced no latency, at all, with the AirPods connected as the "A" device, and a pair of cheap ($30) BT headphones as the "B" device. I got no latency at all when watching a Netflix movie on a 2017 iPad. When I listened with an AirPod in one ear, and one of the headphone ear units on the other ear, the sound was delivered to both devices at the same time, and in sync with the image on the screen. Very impressive!!! I was about to buy a newer BT 5.0 based transmitter, but that little test showed me that I didn't have to.My configuration was as follows:1). 2017 iPad Pro via headphones cable to this BT transmitter2). AirPods connected via BT as the "A" device on the transmitter3). $30 BT headphones connected via BT as the "B" device on the transmitter4). Netflix movie playing the movie on the iPadBoth the AirPods and the headphones connected to the transmitter easily and painlessly, in a very straight forward fashion.I can't comment on the battery life of the transmitter, since I have not used it that way yet.I also don't think the transmitter has any kind of noise cancellation feature, so I'm not sure why that is even a ratable item for this review, but I gave it max stars since everything else works great. This device costs more than cheaper ones out there - and maybe they are just as good I really don't know. But I already had the money spent on this one, and despite a newer BT standard being available, and despite newer low-latency technology being available, this 3 year old device works like a charm. I am very impressed. Someone knew what they were doing when they designed this thing.

works great! easy to setup and pair with headphones. We each have a Logitech Wireless Headset h800 , and TV is much more enjoyable - especially if you have sounds around you like traffic or an air conditioner .Now 1 year later.. still very pleased with the unit. Never any issues.
