These are useful camping or if you live in a place like Houston where 1 raindrop causes the power to go out. Last a good while and illuminates well.

Bought these for husband as an emergency. The brightness lights up the entire room, good amount of sticks for what the cost is! Easy to use! Quality is great!

Only opened 2 so far to see if they were worthy of the BOB or good enough for camping. Super impressed. One stick lights up an entire room at night. Bright enough to hurt your eyes if you hold it too close. Left it in bedroom and checked it again 24 hours after initial open and it wasn't lighting up the room but it was still bright enough to see whatever you hold it by. Throw a few in glove box, few in BOB, few around the house for emergency and give one to people you love to put in glove box in case they ever have car troubles at night

I gave the rest of my box of Cyalume Snaplights, about a year old, to other members of my household following a power outage, so I got a pack of these to replace them. I had a spare Snaplight to compare to the MediTac lights so I snapped one of each simultaneously, gave them a shake, and set them down in my darkened bedroom to compare their performance.A few minutes after the start of this test, the Cyalume Snaplight was noticeably brighter, but both were still producing enough light to read the packaging they came in. Two hours later, they were about equal in brightness, and after six hours, the MediTac light was still producing enough light to use as a marker or to navigate a dark room, while the Cyalume Snaplight was, for all practical purposes, already spent. I must note that while the Cyalume Snaplight was purchased a bit more than a year ago, its expiration date is three years in the future, so its performance should not have degraded that much.I think in an emergency scenario having useful light for longer is more important than having a bright light in the first hour. The string included with the MediTac light was the icing on the cake and further improves its usefulness for wearing as a necklace or use as a signaling device. I will be buying more of these lights in the future in preference over Cyalume Snaplights.
