Love this mechanical remote shutter release as my x-t3 likes to freeze when connected to an app, and this makes it super easy to throw my camera on my tripod and grab some long exposure shots without having to figure out the delayed shutter function, which I cant ever remember how to work

I ordered this Mechanical Shutter Release Cable Cord Threaded Cable Release with Bulb-Lock to use with my Fuji X-Pro1 and my Intrepid 4x5 camera. For some reason or another, I seem to have trouble keeping track of cable releases. I have at least 3, but I can never find one when I need it. I was planning to take my 4x5 on a hike, and it seemed that it would be faster to order a new release than to find one of the lost ones. This cable release is nice and long. The end that screws into the shutter button could be better. The machining was pretty sloppy, and screwing it onto my Intrepid was harder than it should have been. The cable release operated smoothly. It was easy to lock the release with the bulb lock.

When I first opened it everything seemed good and working fine with the trigger and lock out/release - pretty much the same as my old release cable, but when I went to test it on my camera it wouldn’t thread into the trigger. I looked closer and saw the threads have a bunch of burrs on them, especially on the end. Basically it just wasn’t fully machined and cleaned properly in manufacturing. So it’s basically useless to me.

Doesn't fit the Sony RX10 iv camera. The listing says it does, but the item's threads don't match the camera's threads - so when you try to attach the cable release, it just binds after one or so turns without screwing in securely to the shutter button. Then, since it's not well screwed in, it doesn't work. Giving this two stars simply because it might work with other cameras. The listing needs to be corrected.

This is a solid shutter release cable that if you have a compatible camera will screw into your shutter hole and when you push the mechanical shutter it will extend a rod to simulate pressing down on the shutter.Somethings to note, this rod extends a lot and you can feel the friction when your pushing down on the button so if you are used to holding the shutter for focusing and then pushing down it can be a lot harder to do with this. There is also a way to lightly undo the counter screw on the button so you can do long exposure without holding the shutter while in Bulb shutter timing where it locks into the screw point and then when your ready to release the shutter you push down on the screw ring. It's really helpful for bulb usage while also keeping the usage light. The cable is a decent length so you can get out of the way for the shot if you are impacting light on your shot but it's not long enough if your using it as your only option for a shutter release while taking group shots that you want to be in.Overall this is great build quality, works exactly as described and as long as your looking for a mechanical shutter release and understand if you need this or a wireless shutter trigger then this is a great choice

This is a good cable release, not just because it's smooth and works well, but because of the lock function. I have always used a cable release that had a small set screw to lock and unlock the release, and that's a pain. This one? Just push lightly and boom, it disengages. Easy to use and doesn't introduce any shake or vibration. I am very happy with this one.

Can really say much about it. It's your standard cable shutter release for $10. Don't expect it to be a fancy Nikon one and it'll be fine.
