The "raised ruling" was pretty much nonexistent on every page of both pads. In a few tiny areas, I could barely feel the smallest difference on the paper with my finger. But for the vast majority, there was no difference whatsoever. Nothing was "raised" anywhere. I also tried a pencil but it just glided over all the lines easily with absolutely no perception of a raised ridge anywhere at all.

Great for preschool prep. Love having a variety of ways for my boys to learn to write. Worth it and was not able to find anything like this at Target or Walmart.

Quality paper. Its thick paper and much easier to erase on than alot of the Kindergarten paper that is thin like newspaper. It also has slightly raised lines. I absolutely love this paper for my 5 year old and would not buy any other brand.

Great for a preschooler learning to write. These are similar to what my daughter uses in school and are a great value for the price.

We started using these to help our daughter with the size of her letters. They were either very small or very large. The raised lines helps her to identify the right size of each letter. The quality of the paper is very good! I write her spelling words with a sharpie marker and then she writes out each word three times. I have ordered another set and will continue to do so throughout the year.
