if only this moter damaged and other parts is good., you can easily replace.but if the spring and other parts is not good, I think you buy whole peice partsis better. not only change the moter.

When installing, pay attention to the positon of the wires insread of the colors. After looking at my other zone valves, it appears the yellow and orange wires were swapped on the motor. Motor worked fine otherwise.

My basement heating zone was sticking in the "on" position. (Honeywell V843F).The valve motor has a reduction gear and a spring that get sticky over time - keeping it from returning to a neutral position and closing the valve. The motor is only held on with one screw. Just unscrew it and twist clockwise to remove. Installation is just the reverse. Electrical connection was easy. Just cut out the wires for the old motor - strip them and connect the new motor. They even include two wire nuts to complete the repair.Awesome product. The motor seems a little slower than my old motor, but not a problem.

We have a four-zone heating system with an oil-burning furnace. I noticed one day that the radiators in our main-level family room were still warm, even though the heat was off for the summer. After doing some online research and watching a couple of videos I realized that the likely cause was this automatic shut-off valve. Apparently, they can become stuck in either the open (always hot) or closed (always cold) position. The valve is constantly being heated and cooled so the mechanical part eventually wears out. Replacing was very simple and did not require any plumbing work. When we had our annual cleaning I mentioned to the technician that I had replaced this valve and he confirmed that I did it correctly and everything was working well. Score one for the DIY homeowner!

This was a cinch to install - one screw and two wires (held by wire nuts). Most difficult part of the installation was making sure not to lose and/or drop the two wire nuts or the screw. My heating zone upstairs was stuck in an open position, making the upstairs "Hot as Hades". I turned the thermostat way down and tapped the old motor with the handle end of a screwdriver, and heard the valve close. "Maybe it was just stuck" was my first thought. The next time the heat came back on, it was stuck on again. I replaced the old motor with this one (the task took a grand total of about five minutes) and the heat upstairs now works again as it should. FAST delivery, great price, easy install - What more could I ask for? Next test will be to see how long it continues to work. I'm expecting it to last several years - We'll see...
