The M-D Aluminum Sill Nosing is used as a threshold for commercial and residential doorways. This threshold can be used in doorways with a dramtic floor height transition like a step. No hardware is included. This product can be secured to the floor with screws or adhesive. Before installation, the sill nosing can be cut to a desired length by using a hacksaw.

Overall I am happy with the product and would buy it again even knowing what I know now.It is sturdy and a good thickness. Came packaged well. There are some light scuff marks from people handling it. Should probably have had some polyethylene tape or something on the outside surface to protect it, from the factory. Still overall, it looks good and I'm happy with it.

I was carpeting the steps to my basement and needed a transition from the tile on the main floor to the riser of the top step. They didn't tile all the way to the riser and the transition that was there was short of the tile and wouldn't reach the top of the carpeted riser, so i needed sill nosing that was a bit larger, and this item fit perfectly.Finish - this is dark oil rubbed bronze. It's almost black, but it matched the finish on the handles that i put on the door at the top of the steps that was also oil rubbed bronze. There are no copper/brass highlights- just solid color.Length - it was ~36.5 inches. Enough to fit a true 36" application, but don't expect it to fit perfectly for your job. It is meant to be trimmed to size. It's aluminum and cuts easily with a hack saw - just cut carefully so you don't slip and scratch the finish on the piece you want to keep.Fastening - there are no holes to attach. After cutting to size I drilled four holes on the top evenly spaced, countersunk the holes, and used flat headed screws to secure it to the sub floor using bronze finish hinge screws. The thickness of the tread is enough that you can get the screws flush and still be secure.

Works for what I need. Putting it on my window sill so the dogs can't keep scratching it up. My only complaint was that one was bent when we got it. Most likely happened during shipping, but still annoying. We were able to straighten it out enough for what we needed

Description says bronze, ordered 2 different sizes from the same brand, but this one came black. Will order another one to see if it was just a mistake. Long live amazons easy returns
