This case is the perfect width for the X-8 but is significantly longer than the recorder. The extra space will be useful to hold cables or a dead cat and the side-to-side fit is good enough that I'm not worried about the recorder sliding around.There is a nice net pocket in the lid with is good for small cables. The case is well padded and should provide good protection.

The X8 fits inside this case nicely and I like the zippered mesh pouch for accessory and cable storage. The problem with this and several others like it is the XLR release clips on the side of the X8 tend to catch on the inside of the zipper seam when attempting to remove the X8 from the case. During production setup, I have to be able to get things done in a hurry sometimes and this case presents a major obstacle to my own workflow. I do not recommend this case for the X8.

The item is nicely made and looks good, but it doesn't have a secure hold on the Tascam X8 recorder. I'm convinced the lack of padding or hold on the device is going to result in damage. returning it.
