We were looking for some support for our memory foam mattress. Our standard box springs had slats too wide. These were perfect. The height is perfect to fit into our bed base which was our requirement. No noise issues from the wood. Not hard to put together. Couldn’t be happier with purchase.

Ordered the queen. Easy to assemble by yourself. All parts where there. Good sturdy pieces of wood. Fit perfect into my queen bed frame. Cover is really nice. Nicer then I thought it'd be. Worth the money.

I had an old spring box frame and had just bought a new Purple mattress, learning that you really need a rigid box frame if you choose to not use the mattress on a platform bed frame. I bought this springless box frame and it was perfect. I am a very handy person and almost built my own, yet for the price, this was a wonderful value and it is perfect for my needs. However, I did cut and add more slats as my mattress required less than 3 inches of space between slats, and this box has around 4.5 inches between slats.Being handy, I found it super easy to build as it comes in parts, so you do have to assemble it. I used a drill and screw gun even though it claims to not need tools. Minimally you will want to have a Philips screwdriver to drive all the screws. Not including adding slats, it probably took me about 30 minutes to assemble.

I recently bought a bed that requires a box spring, which you can’t use under a foam mattress. I researched foundations for foam mattresses for hours before settling on the Mayton. The metal ones had slats spaced too far apart while wood ones like this were built with the recommended 3” spacing. I didn’t want to pay twice as much for the mattress company’s foundation, and reviews of this product were solid. One review even helped me decide on the right size.I was disappointed and frustrated, however, by how rough and unfinished the wood was. It was cracked and split in numerous places. One of the main sides was bowed, though the muscle I hired to help me put it together was able to straighten the soft wood during full assembly. We called to complain. At first, the agent directed me to return it for a replacement. LOLOLOLOL. I’m not going to re-box a half-built queen-size wood frame into torn up packaging and haul the 75 lb ensemble to the UPS Store. He then offered replacement parts, but I didn’t want to live with a half-finished foundation laying on my apartment floor for however long that would take. We ended up settling on a credit to make up for the quality issues and I kept it as is, since despite its flaws it was still functional. It also didn’t come with the white cover as pictured. It was cream with black side panels, covered only the top and sides of the foundation, and closed with a drawstring. So if you get a size that sticks above the bed frame, you’ll probably want to add another fitted sheet to hide the black.Lastly, given the unfinished wood and exposed underside, my bedroom has smelled like plywood for weeks. It’s not necessarily unpleasant but not exactly in keeping with an otherwise elegant aesthetic. Maybe I should have bought the mattress company’s foundation after all, but for now this will have to do.

This is the second queen sized unit that I have purchased and assembled. Both come in a single shipping container that I was unable to move. Box had to be opened outside and individual pieces moved inside for assembly. Assembly quite straightforward although it might make the frame a bit stronger and quieter if wood pieces were glued before screwing together. Second unit has the wood of a notch where the slats fit, cracked open by a large staple which mishit. This whole notched side is separated from its rail. As they don't ship a part and I can't return what I can't move, I will have to rebuild the notch and reattach its piece to its rail. Big hassle. No means of contacting anyone regarding this. Only recourse is return/exchange and/or review.

This box spring was easy to assemble and seems quite durable.I laid the 5 frame components on a flat surface for assembly and installed all the carriage bolts loosely at first. Then I quickly checked each inside corner with a small carpenters square to make sure I had the box spring assembled squarely before tightening all the bolts. If you don't have a square, you could use a hard sided box or other household item that you believe is fairly square (90 degrees on at least one corner). I also made sure each long side component was lined up nicely with each end component. If you bolt the side component down somewhat crooked (askew, tilted, etc.), it may make putting the cover on more difficult. I just lined them up by eye when performing my final tightening and all was well. The box spring came with a small stamped steel wrench for tightening the carriage bolts, but I think using a standard box wrench or ratchet and socket makes this much easier to tighten down. If you don't have those tools you could certainly use the wrench they send in the hardware kit.Once the five frame components were tightened down snugly, I laid out all of the spring boards into the slots provided on the side frame rails. Then I screwed them down to the frame with the provided wood screws and my cordless drill. You could use a #2 phillips head screwdriver, it would just take a bit more time, and you'll get a good arm workout.Last, I installed the provided cover. I noticed some folks said it was hard to get installed in the comments. I had no issues at all, similar to installing a fitted sheet over a mattress. I think making sure the components are mostly square and installed lined up, will make this part easier. There was a draw string type device that I could pull tight around the "skirt" of the cover once it was installed. This ensures that the cover can't easily slide up over time.We installed this under my daughters Full XL memory foam style mattress and it was quite sturdy and did not creek or make any noise when in place.
