I bought two different punches. This one tapers to round, while the other tapers to six sides. For my purpose the taper to round worked better.

It’s a simple tool and it works well. No problems with centering and the knurl makes it easy to grip.

I work with a lot of hard steels. Everything from 1/2'' 347 stainless steel to 6'' 41xx series chromoly steel. This punch gets used daily and I have to say I am very impressed. I beat the brakes off this thing and it still remains to hold up. My old punch I would sharpen once a week and re-harden but this one I have not had to sharpen yet and I have owned it for 6 months. Great buy.

The punches looked ok but they were not hardened properly. the tip bent in on the first few punches.

If you're not a professional using these all the time they are a good bargain and handy to have around. Mine have held up well. The price was certainly right.
