This is a heavy duty wooden seat easy install and removal for cleaning takes maybe 5 minutes to install. Yes I would recommend it to anyone looking for a seat to last a long time

I ordered two of these to replace my old seats because my wife did not like the ones we had that were not solid . They are great. We couldn’t find any solid seats at Lowe’s Home Depot etc

Installed the seat and loved it. It worked great and was very comfortable, for a month. Then one day, just sitting on it doing my business, I heard a crack. Looked down and a crack completely across the seat under my leg. Now what? Very very disappointing. I can’t recommend this product.Update: 6/9/24 - it was beyond Amazon’s replacement period, but the manufacturer was excellent to deal with and sent a no-cost replacement right away. I’m hopeful the first one was simply defective. Raising my rating from 1 to 4 stars, assuming no further issues.

After reading the reviews on todays plastic toilet seats, I knew I wanted something more sturdy. These seats have worked out perfectly. The soft close feature works great. The fit/color to my toilet was like the factory Kohler version. The seat does not buckle like the plastic ones do.

My plastic seat broke so I ordered this heavyweight seat. Easy to install and it is sturdy and looks like it will last. Glad they offer the biscuit color too.

This is great! It's wooden so I can stand on it when it's closed and not have to worry if the lid will break. The colour is perfect and goes so well with my 1970's tub. The slow close lid is great for the little ones for when they visit. No more smashing down!

I purchased this product because it was supposed to be heavy duty. The seat itself is of good quality, but the hinges are attached to the MDF material with only two small screws. The first hinge became detached from the seat before it was even installed - simply unfolding the hinge to be able to install it ripped the screws right out of the wood. The screws for the second hinge ripped out the next day. Because the material is MDF, the screw holes are completely cored out - there is no material left to be able to replace the screw. This is not a case of a defective product - it is a defective design. It should simply not be purchased by anyone.

Just a few months of use, the Polish on surface of the seat came off while cleaning with a regular toilet cleaner.

I purchased this toilet seat from Amazon twice. Once May 25 and it turned purple and then again on August 29 because I was going to have company coming and had to replace it. Of course it was beyond the return window with Amazon so I had to pay twice and now I have 2 purple toilet seats that are useless. Prior to this I had a wooden seat like this that lasted 20 years. I guess they don't make em like they used to. This is a known issue with this company - I searched the internet and youtube and found many videos and ideas on how to remove the purple. One was using 91% isopropyl alcohol to try to fix it. I have not tried it yet simce it seems like a lot of effort for a toilet seat. I called Mayfair customer service and although she was sympathetic, she told me it is the finish they use in manufacturing that coincides with skin oils. She also gleefully told me it is not under warranty for the purple. You would think the manufacturer would simply change the finish and improve upon this product due to the known issues the customer service rep stated they are aware of ?????? I have not used any harsh chemicals to clean it either. This is alot of money to be replacing every 3 months. I love the slow closing feature but they have to figure out the finish. I most likely will have to go with a PLASTIC seat which is not as comfortable as a wooden one. She said Mayfair reads all the comments so I hope they read and reach out to me since this will be the 3rd toilet seat in 6 months.

I have a 9yo that SLAMS the seat and we live above our neighbors. I felt awful waking them up with the bangs at 5:45am. So I ordered 2 of these after measuring our toilets. Worth every penny - took my 8mins max each to install. I didn't use tools and haven't had an issue. I would use tools to tighten if you have heavy restroom traffic or heavy persons that may shift the seat around. It is a slow close, which doesn't bother us (cuz slow=silent when hits bottom). The color and finish is perfect. And as a bonus the cats enjoy watching the lids close likes it's sorcery lol
