It was really hard to seat it on the rim tubeless. It had been folded for a long time in the package and even though I had it open and round all night it still would not seat on the rim without putting a tube in it first. I later removed the tube, changed to the tubeless valve, reseated the tire, and added sealant and air. Not what I usually expect from Maxxis

I ride bikes hard. Good dirt trails. Good gravel. Lots of miles. I moved to theses off another brand and immediately felt it. Good file tread. Good shape to the tire - much better cornering. Bike almost immediately become more agile. -- running tubeless these have been relatively easy to mount and hold up well. The couple I have been testing with - I wore out before they had punctures or damage that required replacement. Good tires. One of the best upgrades you make to your bike is better wheels and better tires.

I never want to replace these because they are so perfect for riding around my yard without destroying the grass and they are fast on the street when I want to leave the house and can take the bit of gravel as well.

I love these tires and will be getting another set as these are about to be worn out after many miles. I usually run tubes and they have held up wonderfully in rough gravel races in Arkansas at Rule of 3 and Big Sugar. No flats in either event as others had some and were running tubeless. They handle really well on chunky rocks and on single track that is not too technical (other variables there such as my handling and bike set up). I would go wider if my bike had the tire clearance. Excellent tire!

I replaced some heavy touring tires on my gravel bike and it feels like a new bike! These are nimble and grippy and worth the money. I often ride in loose rocky rubbly terrain and sometimes wish I'd gotten the wider version, but for hardpack and mixed terrain they're perfect. I'm in Phoenix and have never had the opportunity to ride through mud with them.

These days tires are debut and reviewed on sites at every turn. Which leads to an endless collection of Amazon reviews that have to be vetted (the classic ‘I ride 2 miles a week, these are awesome…’)So what’s answer. Without giving away Maxxis’s secret sauce, they design tires based on application - one, maybe two conditions where a tire will excel (true for mountain, as well as cross or road or gravel). As the example of the rambler, they do one or two things AMAZINGLY well. Loose over hard (eg. Southern California). Sand crushed limestone, no wet conditions or mud.I’m just slightly biased towards maxxis, but for what they’re designed for, I don’t think you’ll find a better tire. If you’re throwing them on an ebike and are ‘slashing’ a walking trail than mileage will definitely vary. Or riding only on pavement, they’re gone feel slow. But. Here in San Diego, where the roads are garbage, and the trails are powder dry, they are amazing

Rueda típica de maxxis, en una medida poco habitual pero ideal para un gravel ligero. Asienta bien y es muy rápida y estable.

Got this as I mostly run street with shortcuts through grass and vacant lots. This tire has what they call "Silk Shield" a laminate going across the whole of the tire that makes punctures hard to get. We have a real bad sandspur problem here in Florida. The little things are just enough to make a regular tire leak like all the time. Besides "Silk Shield" I have gone tubeless with Orange Seal and no more leaks due to one or the other reasons. Reagardless of flats, the tires feel way better than the OEM on Diamondback Trace. I can feel corners are much deeper now. They seem thinner than 45's somehow which is good for what I want, which is easy rolling. Satisfied till later!
