Love using solar power for multiple things and this is another item. Even cloudy gray days provide enough charging power to support the demand. I'm anticipating this sign to last years to come due to its sturdiness and design. Solar panel can change angles as needed. Happy I purchased this sign!

This is a pretty decent product but I decided it needs a few modificiations after using it for 6 months. I do like that the case uses screws so taking it apart is easy.1-I added a second battery in the unit to help it stay on longer. You will need to use a LiPo battery since you cannot fit another 18650 in the case. I hope this will allow unit to stay on longer from dusk until dawn2-I added an additional 2w of solar panels since it is hard to get enough sun to charge it up. The device comes with a 2W panel so now I have 4W total. This should be enough to fully charge battery in 5hrs. The original design needed over 10hrs3-I did not notice any low temperature cutoff device in the unit. This is critical for the battery used to avoid damage as LiON should not be charged under 0 deg C. I added a low temp mechanical switch - this means the light will not work under freezing temps but it should last many years.4-I added some silicon sealer around the case to make sure water does not enter. The original design does not use any gaskets so it would get ruined with deep snow or heavy rains - esecpially if it fals over.5-I added an adjustment for the level where the light comes on. It seems very sensitive and my other outdoor lights would keep it off at night.

It worked for 4 months, during summer/dry weather. After the first big rain storm, it no longer lights up, despite being in the open where it can get plenty of daylight.Follow up: The seller contacted me following my earlier review and offered a refund, which I accepted. So more stars added for great customer service. I do think I received a defective unit, as the switch was very glitchy from the start. I imagine had I received a unit with a properly functioning switch, I might never had had the need to write the negative review.

The sign is easy to read day and night. It solar recharges during the day and offers three different light choices of background light and all light choices look great. It helps to easily identify our address for friends, deliveries or emergency calls. Highly recommend this sign!
