I have a large section of my lawn that was damaged from fungus and had died over the summer. Had a similar problem a couple years ago and I manually raked out the dead grass and spread the task over several weeks and it sucked. Saw this Maxlander and thought I would give it a try. What took weeks before took less than an hour. The Maxlander pulled out all the dead grass leaving behind the remaining healthy grass. Used a bag on my lawn mower to collect all the dead grass because the small bag on the Maxlander would have taken forever. Great purchase!

Absolutely loved the job the dethatcher did only thing wrong as many others have said is the bag is way too small

Got fed up using the rake and getting results but was hating how much effort it took, so I ordered this gadget after watching some videos of it goin to town on the thatch. It tore it up and made piles and piles of dead grass, moss and pine needles that were imbedded in my lawn for years. Love this thing. Not heavy at all, I carried it downstairs myself after putting it together. Feels like it's made with quality and the two attachments- thatcher and scarifier, feel solid and sturdy. So much better than raking all day and turning around, only to notice how much more u still have left to do. Great value.

Comes with the scalper attached even though its listed as a thatch remover. Ended up scalping my yard. The bag is super tiny and useless. Most of the grass doesnt end up in the bag although it saved my legs from a few flying rocks.

I wish I could take this back in time with me to my teen years when I had to dethatch yards with a thatch rake. It took 10 minutes to setup and I was out in the yard tearing it up. It’s effortless to push along. The bag filled up after the first 20 feet so I don't really see the point of using it . Using a leaf rake to pick up the thatch is quicker.It has plenty of power to get the job done. Using a power cord feels like a step backwards but it easy to keep out of the way if you zig zag instead of making concentric passes. Very happy with the results

That’s the best 200$ I ever invested for my yard tools. I just did my 15000 sqft yard in an afternoon. I couldn’t believe how much dead grass it was removing… Even my neighbor who just did his with a powered sweeper said that it did a much better job… It is light and easy to use (easier than a lawnmower…). I recommend not to install the bag since it would be full every 10 feet. You just have to rake the dead grass after or to do a pass with your lawnmower. We ended up having 8 extra large bags full of dead grass (the grass was put on last year and we always collect the grass with the lawnmower). Anyway, I don’t get excited about yard tool usually but this os how much better it is than manually doing it… Highly recommended.

When I first got it I thought it would never work, but I was WRONG!Looks small and too light for the job.Was relatively easy to assemble and went together well.In the yard, it was Outstanding! I was delighted at the job it did and would highly recommend this. I used it before seeding on hard clay soil and it worked perfectly The lawn is now coming in (just as winter sets in) but it was a Hugh success. and the price was cheap.

The bag is ridiculously small but it works great. I got frustrated and taped the door open instead then just mowed over the clippings

A little skeptical at first because the price but it really does the job on the lawn. 3 different depths to use to dig up the thatch and loosen up the soil. Didn’t use the bag option as it filled up pretty quick. Easy to install and maneuver around the yard. Lightweight but solid

did a great job on the lawn, only drawbacks was the small catcher bag and the cord is a paine to move all the time, otherwise a great unit for the price!

What a great little machine. Comes with the two blades, scalping and dethatching. Easy to change them, Allen key is on the arm of the handle. I scalped the lawn first then dehatcher. Yes the bag seems small but can get alot of grass in it.I was emptying every 2 mins . It will leave grass if u don't empty so I did minimum raking just to clean up access. Would highly recommend as long as u use it properly.
