About Us
In 1920, at a time when craftsmanship was a matter of pride, Max Gottlieb Meinel established MAXIMA in Markneukirchen, Germany. In the early 1950s, MAXIMA built a new plant in Geretsried for the production of monofilament nylon fishing line. Using the advanced technology, MAXIMA manufactures the fishing line.

Used this brand for 46 years and it’s NEVER let me down with a fish. Tried other brands over the years and regretted it at the net too many times. Yes I will use florocarbon with line shy fish but I use this as my go to line for a salmon fly leader. Great knot strength, a bit of flex under the rod tip , ties any knot from a blood knot, a perfection loop, to a turtle knot . Why change a winning formula, it works

I would agree, this is a tough line. It doesn't nick or break easily. Has a little more memory than I like, but easily comes untangled. It is heavy, not for casting light lures or great distances.
