They work as long as they don't vibrate apart and fall off. You can pick up the 2 pieces and the band and put back together and wait until it falls apart again.There is a lot of vibration on a wood splitter

I use these to prevent my hydraulic top link from getting damaged from my quick hitch when I close the cylinder. Sometimes I close it just a little too much and it hit the cylinder. It damaged it a slight amount without the stoke limiter collar.I also use these for limiting the closing distance on a haybine. They seem to work without issue.
