Got this same stripper from home depot and it didn't perform as well as this one! Great quality and made it easy to de-popcorn a ceiling and strip a wall. The wall was so easy since I was able to peel it off like a sunburn! Sticks to the wall great, minimal dripping when using it on the ceiling, and it was only because it was too much in a spot. BE MODEST in distribution. This stuff is heavy duty. Smelled of chemicals still, but wasn't super unpleasant. Wear a mask.

I bought two quarts for a project. I never opened the second quart. It just doesn't work.I damaged my wood project trying to scrape the unstripped paint after hours of applying and reapplying.I wish I never bought it.

This paint remover is only good to use if you place objects on the floor . It is so diluted that you can’t apply a thick layer.

I don't even know if I should give it 2 stars. I was trying to remove some varnish from a piece of wood. It was a thin layer of varnish since I realized a made a mistake right away. So I painted the stripper on the piece of wood and decided to wait overnight to give it plenty of time to work. I went back to scrape off the stripper. What a mess and it left behind almost all the varnish. I won't use this in the future.

I saw some three or four star reviews on this stuff and I can’t even believe somebody wouldn’t give it a five. I used it on an old.Kroehler China hutch that I bought at a secondhand store that had the original white washed varnish and the white paint somebody painted over that with on the piece. This stuff ate through all the layers of that junk on my piece. And I just used a metal scraper scraped it off and then after it dried, I sanded it and I can’t believe it. Of course, it has a smell it’s a chemical. So people that were saying some thing about the smell, believe me, I’ve smelled a lot worse and this doesn’t smell bad at all. Wear a mask if it bothers you I guess.

So I used this strip the peeling paint on the soffit on my garage. I followed the instructions on the container and used a chip brush to put it on the vertical surfaces and covered it with cling wrap to prevent drying. I waited 2+ hours to check it and it wasn't ready so per the instructions I applied a second coat and covered it again and waited another 3 hours. When I started to scrape the paint off it didn't come off easily with a putty knife. Not wanting to wait longer I tried my Bahco scraper and was more successful with that. My goal was to get a good base for new paint so this achieved that.According to the instructions I could have waited 24 hours for the stripper to cure. I am not sure if it would have taken me down to bare wood in that time. Also it was a gel formula so I was supposed to be able to use it on vertical surfaces but if it wasn't a very thin coat it would slide off. Perhaps if I had used a roller t would have gone on better but I didn’t have that option. In all this worked for my purpose. I got a descent base for my paint with less work than scraping alone.

I bought this stripper for a project that is still in the works. A very old outdoor painted table made from aluminum. The thick paint is coming up, but it takes time. The bottle says not to let the stripper dry out, so, if I can impart anything useful based on my personal experience with this product it is this: have patience and work in sections. Just concentrate on one area. Paint the stripper on, keep an eye on it that it doesn't dry out, you can tell when the paint starts to wrinkle that it is working. Another thing that I would suggest is to give it a good shake in between the applications. (Shake the bottle before you use it in between your sections). I've used paint strippers in the past that have felt horrible if you accidentally got a spot on your arm & didn't realize it until it was burning a hole in you. I haven't had that experience with this product, and yes, it WORKS!
