This was so easy to use. my old candy thermometer became inconsistent with temperature so i needed to replace it with a reliable, updated version. I was surprised by all the new technology offered: the Bluetooth, the apps, alerts-it was an easy purchase for me. the digital screen was clear and bold-i didn't need my glasses-What an upgrade!!! Even the recipes that were given were awesome! We will definitely be trying more-great product

I love the Maverick brand for its high quality grilling products so I thought I would give their BT candy thermometer a try. I LOVE IT!!!! Has great features including 11 candy presets, a long probe and a clip that attaches, removes and adjusts easily. Accurate temperature reading and great temperature range – perfect for making hot chocolate bombs. No more Wilton or CDN for me!

I like to make jellies and jams and it can be frustrating to manage monitoring temperature and stirring. And sometimes I do need to step away. The Bluetooth and app was great as a backup monitor to the beep on the thermometer as an added assurance I don’t overcook. Also, the clip holds tight, which is an issue I have with others.

I'm making jam. It takes a while fir jam to get all the way to 220F, so I wanted a way for my phone to notify me. Another advantage would be that I could read the temperature even if steam fogged the display. For the first part of the cooking, it seemed to work fine. Around the time it reached 217F, it disconnected from Bluetooth and displayed 888.8. If I removed the thermometer from the jam and let it cool down, the display and Bluetooth connection returned for a while. A thermometer this sensitive to the heat it's supposed to measure is USELESS.It gets worse, though. I got it to limp along until it registered 220F. The jam didn't "sheet" or pass the "frozen saucer" test. I continued cooking the jam. At 222, I tested it against my traditional glass thermometer. The glass thermometer registered about 218.
