Ok, please keep in mind that I'm not a matcha purist, so I don't know what a matcha set is "supposed" to look like. But my daughter loves matcha tea, and when I saw this set in pink, I had to order it.It comes perfectly packaged and all pieces showed up without damage.It comes with everything you need to make matcha tea, and importantly, for beginners like us, it also included a little guide for how to make it and how to condition the whisk before use and how to clean it afterwards. I wouldn't have had any idea, so this was a nice touch.

This set is absolutely gorgeous. I got the pink, which I think goes with the bright green of a quality, ceremonial grade matcha beautifully. The matcha bowl feels sturdy, and the shape of the spout gives a nice, clean pour. It also comes with a quality chasen (the whisk), which does an excellent job of incorporating even the most stubborn tea clump and helps aerate the mixture well. If you’ve been using a spoon, a regular western whisk, or even a silicone brush to mix your matcha powder, you’ll probably find that the chasen gives a slightly lighter, yet clearly herbier matcha flavour than what you’re used to. In any case, this set is undeniably extra, and that’s what makes it such a great gift idea for the tea lover in your life. In my case, I was going to give this set to my mom, but it was just so pretty I had to keep it for myself!
