I had this unit and the compatible rear view mirror installed by a qualified mechanic. It stopped working in less than 30 days. Hope fully the company will get back to me and come up with a solution. Especially since I paid $60 per hour labor to have it installed.

Update: March 2023: temperature sensor quit. Considering that the OEM sensor can last 20 years or more, I'm disappointed that I only got 4 years out of this sensor. I mounted it beside the factory sensor so position should have been okay.Beginning in 2021, I'd get a flicker in the screen, especially when switching from reverse to drive, it would flicker on in drive for a bit. It hasn't gotten so bad that I felt I had to disconnect it though, and I'm not sure what caused the flicker. Other than those two things, it's been a great screen. It took some time to get it installed and set up, but this should be expected. I gave it 4 stars for ease of installation, but this should not deter your from purchasing this monitor. The daytime display is very good, and I like that I can adjust the autodimming. It takes a little time to adjust the guidelines, but if you park perfectly straight beside a straight curb, you can adjust the line to match the curb. Then turn around and adjust the other side. The adjustment shows values on the screen, so most of them should be the same except for the horizontal position. The nighttime image is quite grainy, more grainy than a backup monitor I ordered from RVS a couple of years ago. However, it could be the camera too because the camera I got 2 years ago is no longer available so I couldn't get it. Even though the image is grainy, you can still see what's behind you easily.Update October 27, 2019The system is working as well as it has with not problems so far. However, because my camera is a 170° angle, the guide lines appear curved against a straight line on the road. The guide lines would probably be perfect for the 150° cameras. Now, the guidelines can be rotated and moved, but it would be nice to be able to adjust the curvature to compensate for the 170° cameras. With regards to my comment about the night time image quality, I believe now that the quality is more a result of the camera. Even though the camera I got was a night-vision camera, the specs for the camera (usable lume = 0.5 Lux) were not quite as good as the previous camera that I got (usable lume = 0.1 Lux).Update August 2020: I am still very satisfied with the monitor. I noticed one other review mentioned a flicker. I occasionally get a single flicker, but like the other reviewer, I cannot determine if it is due to the camera, wire routing, or interference from the vehicle. However, my first camera from RVS failed so I got the license plate camera that is good to 0.1 lux. It is also 170 degree, so I still have the curved gridlines, but the view at night is outstanding.I like it so much I'm getting two more for my family. If you are ordering from Canada, order it directly from Master Tailgaters. It's been almost a month to ship with Amazon.ca, but I got another one within a week ordering directly. Amazon.com may be fast for US customers though.

At first I gave this 5 stars, but after attempting to calibrate the compass, I had to come back and dock a couple stars. In order to get into calibration mode, you have to pull the 2nd video input RCA cable out of your dash, and find a video source to plug into it (and what the heck uses RCA video output anymore??). I guess I have to rig up an old DVD player and plug it into a power inverter just to calibrate a compass? Ridiculous. It's an inconvenience and a serious design flaw.Aside from that, I have no other complaints. It looks like a factory mirror, the LCD video quality and brightness is excellent, and it was relatively easy to install.

The good:The manufacturing quality of this mirror is amazing. It's absolutely OEM - i.e., the quality that you would expect in a high-end vehicle. The flawlessness of the mirror glass itself, it's sensors, buttons & the auto-dimming function is outstanding. The compass & temp LEDs are clear, not-too-bright & in the right spot. The video screen is completely hidden until it turns on. The included mirror-mounting hardware and cable-routing / cable-hiding components are top notch. It also includes a temperature sensor at the end of a very long cable that you can route anywhere on the underside or front or back of the vehicle. Nice. Remote control is fine / quality. You can calibrate the temperature by 9 degrees, and you can calibrate the compass. You can turn the gridlines on or off. Did I mention this mirror is OEM quality?? It's really, really nice. Unit includes everything you need except for a camera. It was straight-forward to wire (I used a tap-a-fuse cable going into the radio fuse in the fuse box to have it function along with the radio). The bad:They should probably include a rear-view camera in this bundle / i.e., this, which is currently their top-end unit (They have to know that rear-view cameras are the number one reason people are buying this mirror, right? But it's not a big deal, it would just be nice to know that you have *everything* you need out of the box. Especially for first-time installers of this setup. But I digress. Let me continue...) The menu is only accessible via the wireless remote (so don't lose it!). The temperature gauge on mine is reading the outside air much higher than the actual ambient temperature (I have it mounted inside the engine compartment so I need to change locations to be sure it's not the engine temp that is causing this artificially high reading. But even when the car has been parked outside for hours, it still reads very high.) The compass is very hard to calibrate: You have to drive in a 5-meter circle (??) for 3 full rotations, at slower-than-walking-speed, to calibrate it. (My manual Jeep doesn't go that slow. Maybe I should push it! So I need to calibrate it again as it's not accurate. It seems to be off about 20-30 degrees from the actual direction I'm aiming in). The video has flicker (but I suspect this has to do with the camera and where I've routed the RCA cable in the car - i.e., near power and audio cables - more so than this has anything to do with the video screen itself. The menu on the video screen does NOT flicker - so again, it looks like this has to do with the video cable of the camera itself).Summary:I highly recommend this mirror! It was more expensive than most other units, but came with all the features I desired (and more) - and the quality was just outstanding! Competing units I researched had *terrible* grades on (F)akespot(dotcom) about their user reviews, so I was very fortunate to find this unit. If you are on the fence - go for it. It's a great unit!

This mirror does exactly what it says. It comes with a long connector that you can run down into your dashboard where you can connect your cameras and power. I like this because you can place your connectors somewhere easy to work on. The mirror is a good size. My favorite feature is that the screen isn't noticeable at all when it's turned off so this looks just like a normal mirror. The compass and temperature gauge both work well and actually mirror what my car says. I mainly wanted this so I can see my temperature when using Apple CarPlay. (Keep in mind that you will need to run a temperature sensor to the front of your car for the temperature function to work.) If you choose not to do this, you just don't plug in the sensor and the temperature won't be displayed on the mirror. Overall I am pleased with this purchase. It works as advertised and the screen offers good quality.
