  • Reference OE Number: 37980-RNA-A01, MAF0033, MA190, 37980RNAA01, 37980RC0M01
  • Function: A mass air flow sensor calculates the oxygen flowing to your engine for the ideal air-to-fuel ratio and helps to increase engine efficiency by doing so. The engine throttle opens when you press on the gas, allowing more air to flow around the hot wire. An electronic chip and PCM work with the airflow signal to calculate how much fuel needs to be injected. This measurement helps keep the air to fuel ratio at the optimal level and gas mileage at as bay.
  • Features: Precision manufactured and assembled sensing elements are used to accurately measure air flow and restore a vehicle's original drivability; Qualified equipment and state-of-the-art testing, coupled with 100% rigorous quality inspection, ensures an impeccable customer experience; Fast response time and durability; Lightweight and portable, easy to install and clean, and directly replaceable.
  • Note: We provide you with one year after-sales service, if you encounter any problems in the process of product use, before you give us your own feedback and comments on our products, please leave us a message in a timely manner, we will be within 18 hours to give you a satisfactory solution. Before you buy this mass air flow sensor. Please use the year/make/model drop down bar confirm the compatibility or description to confirm the compatibility.

Product Description

How does a MAF sensor work?

The Importance of Yezoauto Air Flow Meters

Installed in the intake pipe between the air filter housing and the intake manifold, most MAF sensors work on the hot wire principle. Put simply, a MAF has two sensing wires. One is heated by an electrical current, the other is not. As air flows across the heated wire, it cools down. When the temperature difference between the two sensing wires changes, the MAF sensor automatically increases or decreases the current to the heated wire to compensate. The current is then changed to a frequency or a voltage that is sent to the ECU and interpreted as air flow. The quantity of air entering the engine is adjusted accordingly.

When a MAF sensor fails, the engine will not know the right amount of fuel to add, causing several common signs:

  • Check engine light
  • Engine runs rich at idle or lean under load
  • Engine runs rich or lean: caused by the MAF
  • Rough idle or stalls
  • Excessive vibrations when stationary
  • RPMs changing noticeably without driver input

How to install mass air flow sensor

mass air flow sensor

Step1

When replacing a mass air flow sensor, first locate the sensor which is positioned in the air intake tube between the air filter housing and throttle body

Step2

Release the safety clip and gently pull the connector from the sensor

Step3

A clamp is used to attach the sensor to the air intake tube, use a screwdriver or small socket and loosen the clamp

Step4

Next, undo the inlet clip on both sides. There are many methods of holding the MAF in place, the principle is the same

Step5

Once all mounting clips or bolts have been undone, lift the sensor and remove it from the engine bay

Step6

After the sensor has been removed, inspect internal parts and electrical connector for damage

Step7

Compare the old sensor to the replacement unit, they should match identically, remove dust caps before installation

Step8

Gently reinstall the sensor into the inlet and outlet tubes, ensuring a proper seal between the sensor and the tube

Step9

After connecting the sensor to both inlet and outlet tubes, tighten the clamp and attach the clips

Step10

Reattach the sensor electrical connector ensuring a small click, when completely connected

Old Maf sensor was acting up. Installed this one, and so far so good. 👍

Good fit, looked exactly like the other brand. Easy install. 5 stars for now...Disconnect battery to clear the codes, about ten minutes. (that was the longest part of the install), disconnect the plug, remove the old one (KEEP THE SCREWS, you don't get any in the box), install the new one and reconnect the plug, and voila! Done.Wait until the 10 minutes are up as you will be done with the install in about 3 to 5 minutes. Once done, started her up, no codes so far and no rejection from the ECM for the generic branding. We'll keep an eye out... KEEP your old MAF sensor in case you start to get dashboard errors or engine errors from the new one. Always best to be safe than sorry.Currently priced at $24.89, a real bargain for what they cost out here...

This is a decent non-OEM MAF sensor for the 2010 Honda Odyssey. The ad is extremely well-written (which is great, as there's no documentation with the part itself). Replacing the MAF sensor is possibly the easiest thing to replace on the engine, and there are numerous videos available online to help you if needed.I did note the build quality is a just a bit questionable - it's ultra-nitpicky, but in the third photo the sensor should be exactly parallel to the black plastic housing. This one is a bit 'off'. It shouldn't affect functionality, but nonetheless it suggests quality assurance may not be the manufacturer's strong suit. Just something to consider when making your purchase.
