Tried reaching out to Manufacture, but no results. Does fold properly and the auto feed not working. Tried online videos but nothing gets it to work. Customer service is non existent.

I used a 1217 Martin-Yale for many years and didn't really consider another brand when it was time to replace it.I opted for the 1611 model this time, because I'd folded 11X17 paper maybe three times in the past 15 years or more. The 1611 will only take paper up to 8 1/2 inches wide.I want to love this model. Being able to put a stack of paper in square rather than fanning it out as I had to do with the 1217 is nice. It's definitely a safer design with covers over all the rollers. Adjustments for different folds only require resetting a maximum of two thumb-screws vs. up to four on the 1217.The downside is that the manual they sent doesn't not entirely match this model. It says there's a lever under the back fold table for setting tension, but there isn't. I had to call the factory to learn it's instead set with a 9/64" Allen/hex wrench in an entirely different location. Also, they didn't include one of these completely necessary $2 tools despite the fact that it's a $1150 machine, so I had to go buy one.Why is it completely necessary? Because direct from the factory, brand-new, when I fold standard 20-pound paper, it will work great up to the last 5 or 6 sheets in the stack. It just yanks the rest right on through sometimes trying to fold the whole stack and sometimes bypassing the fold table entirely. It's even worse when doing a tri-fold.After buying the extra tool and experimenting a bit, it may be working better now; it's too early to tell. One more thing about the manual. It looks like it was typeset in 1955 and has never been proofread since. "notsuitableforusebychildren" really should be six separate words, shouldn't it? They have 1950s style technical drawings throughout rather than photos, and as I mentioned before, at least one critical part indicated in the drawings simply is not there.EDIT: I have now used this machine for nearly a year and regrettably must lower my rating. There is no consistency. One sheet may fold straight and the next will be crooked. On thicker paper, the only way to get it to go through is to jiggle the feed table constantly. I have called the factory directly for suggestions, but nothing has really helped. Avoid this model and buy the more expensive, less-automatic model instead.

This was an expensive investment for our small non-profit business, but so worth the money. Quick and easy to set up. (Hardest part was lifting the very heavy machine from the box!) It only took about 5 minutes to figure out exactly how to set it up and adjust fold settings. Then I folded 4000 letters for a mailing without any issues or jams.I also tested coverstock paper (67 lb) and it worked great. I've wanted a machine like this for many years. So thankful that it works so well!

Overall, the product is great. The only issue we found is we just unboxed ours today and there was paint chipping off the fold tables as we were trying to install it. we used no force, it just flaked off when we touched it.

Researched everything on line and decided to order this Yale 1611. I work for Coldwell Banker Burnet real estate in MN and my office badly needed a folding machine. The old one we had, another Martin Yale was built in the 1990tys and had some creasing issues with the paper feeder. It was driving us all crazy so we all pitched in and purchased this Yale 1611. It was delivered promptly and easy to put together with the instructions. I had it up and working in Minutes... Gave a demonstration in the resource room at CBB to all the other employees and it works fine. I love the easy color coded directions on each individual fold. So it not only does tri-folds, it does other folds as well and even folds with staples. (5-at a time) You can place up to 150 copies to be folded individually and it really cranks them out. Not that noisy either. I highly recommend this product. Kirby

Used it for about 3 weeks now. once correctly set, it works wonderfully. No need to fan out papers, just neatly stack under bar, push tray back up to bar and push the button and wow! papers folded in just a couple of minutes. Now that's what I'm talking about!

Used this to cut down the time to mail out letters and brochures. Saved over 8 man hours in the first day. It didn't come with a manual and I cannot find one online. Took some trial and error to get it set up and adjusted but the end result was so good that I can't knock the review.

This machine was easy to set-up. In just a few minutes we had it up and running. It is perfect for what we need it for, except one thing, the documents we fold are in a specific order and when the machine folds the documents it stacks them in reverse order. It pulls the paper from the top of the stack and our previous Martin Yale autofolder pulled from the bottom of the stack and that is what we were expecting. No matter which direction we put the documents in the machine they were either folded in reverse or the address was on the wrong side and would not show in the window of the envelope.
