I've tried every kind of banjo there is. In my experience, all the rest were poor designs. I use this to make a living everyday. The rest are junk, this one is sweet. Smooth operation, and a solid design.

Works as designed, diyers will find it takes practice and experience to use. I found that as a first time user a 2 person team work best for me. I applied tape and second person used used 6 in. Blade to set tape.

Just like the one I used 25 years ago. I know this has been eclipsed by bazookas and the like, but for my purposes, doing a room remodel here and there in my own home, it can't be beat for the price. Much better than hand laying the mud bed for the tape, and this goes a long way to help prevent dry spots on the tape that will lift or bubble later. A real time saver and quality improver.

I've used this model in the past and very happy with its performance. It does get heavy with extended use but makes a messy (for me) job cleaner and easier. Be sure to thin down the mud to get complete coverage and reduce the effort to pull out tape. Great for the DIYer or pros that occasionally do drywall.

I would say I love it, but I hate taping drywall. I am not a professional and this tool helped me tape a small kitchen and medium sized bathroom in about a day - completely done. That is MUCH faster than I could have done without the tool.What I like: the tape comes out completely coated on one side with a thin film of mud; the construction of the tool is top notch stainless, very well put together, doesn't leak mud anywhere; and cleans up easily.What I found difficult; when first loaded with mud it is heavy for horizontal or overhead work; the cutter requires some 'learning' to get it to cut the tape at the end of the run; it is large and cumbersome in tight corners; so . . . I adapted to pulling shorter lengths of tape and placing after cutting and putting down the tool.mostly these were user issues that I had to learn as a non-professional.one thing I am still trying to figure out is that the instructions say to make sure you keep the hinged side up on horizontal runs - however the hand strap on the back of the tool forces you to hold the tool the wrong way for horizontal runs.using the wooden handle can cause you to cut your knuckles on the mud compartment lid if you're not careful. I started wearing a leather glove.if you have a lot of taping to do - this tool is well worth the money and time to learn how to use.
