The SXS second stage scuba diving octopus is our smallest, most compact second stage made with ultra-lightweight technopolymer. It features a Vortex Assisted Design (VAD) with a "curved" bypass tube for maximum airflow. The most prominent feature of this versatile octopus is a lateral exhaust tube that offers better visibility for divers in all diving positions. Also, this octopus for diving can be used on either the left or right side for maximum comfort.
Ideal for travel divers, but also great for those looking for a streamlined 2nd stage octopus.

Terrible performance. I am a tek diver and cave and rebreather diver with 40 years diving. I use Atomic and Scubapro and Hollis DC7/SE500 regs rigged for sidemount and OC deep. Needed a 2nd stage (like SE5500) to complete a 5th setup, that could be handed off in any position. The reg is sturdy and very well made, but performance wise even after adjusting it is a lousy breather (high WOB). Expected much better from Mares.
