Bought it for a 2002 MTD Yard Machines 8hp snow blower [644E series].It is the correct bearing but it looks off and there is too much axial play when on the shaft.I expect some (this does not press fit) but for a new bearing I don't like it. I did not check it for roundness. No accurate measurement tools.I thought this was a Canadian made bearing. Its not. According to the box it was designed in Canada but made in P.R.C. I would rather it be designed in China and manufactured elsewhere. Its hit or miss with Chinese made bearings. The Chinese bearings I installed on my lawn tractor lasted one month.

I needed to replace this main impeller shaft bearing on my 30” Craftsman (MTD) snowblower during a rebuild where I replaced the auger housing. My setup does not use the shaft collar, so I was a little worried it might not come off easily - but the collar is not attached to the bearing so is easily removable. The bearing is fine, especially for the price. I’m dinging it one star cuz it could have been packed with more grease, and given how much you need to disassemble to get at the bearing, it would have been better if it had more grease in it. On the other hand, with global warming, who knows how much use this bearing will get?!??

It fits like it's supposed to. You don't need the locking collar, so through the locking collar away. There is no room for it anyway.

For my Troy Built snow blower, the locking collar was not used. It adds aprox 1/2" to bearing stack hieght and would then not fit. The bearing is a press fit with a retaining bracket so it can't move after installation. The instructions / information should explain this. The fit is the same as the original part. Installation was fairly simple. No more grinding or shaking when running.
