Synthetic magnesium carbonate is chemically produced in a lab, and involves the use of harsh chemicals and solvents leaving behind harmful residues in the final product.
At Mantel, we only use raw magnesite. Raw magnesite is a natural mineral that is mined from the earth and does not contain the same level of contaminants as synthetic sources. This results in a final product that is clean, pure, and free from unnecessary additives, chemicals, and drying agents.

Good chalk! I’ve used it over more expensive brands and I can’t really see a difference. Perhaps the other brands lasted slightly longer, but I’d rather have more affordable.

This chalk is a really good value for money.Very fine powder so you can use it inside or outside a sock.Performance is good for an intermediate climber like myself.The downside is that for me at least, I need to apply it after every boulder.

I’ve used FL, BD and free friend chalk and this is the best so far, it’s fluffy and super fine. Works great in a sock if you’re into that but I just toss 1/5 of the pound bag in my bucket for a few months at a time. Really no need to look further than this chalk that is surprisingly cheap! They were out of stock for a bit and literally waited until the last minute to not buy another chalk until this one was back in stock

Been climbing for a year and I tried a 1lb of chunky before this pound and did not like breaking down chalk rocks especially when running on empty and being to lazy to replenish. This stuff def an upgrade for me

this chalk is great and cheaper than the big brand alternatives! if you like fine chalk this one works great. I personally like having something to grab onto to rub the chalk in with these finer powder chalk products so I dumped half the bag into my chalk bucket with some old chalk socks. it sticks on your skin pretty well too so I noticed I haven't been needing to chalk up as often as I have to with certain cheaper chalks like metolius.

As a rock climber for many years, I've tried many different chalks and this is by far the WORST. It does not stay on your hands, it may as well be just dirt. THIS. IS. GARBAGE!!!

I use a chalk sock so I went ahead and piled this into the sock with a bit of free chalk at the bottom of my bag and it’s awesome. It doesn’t overchalk your hands even if you’re like me and always have your hand in the bag. At first impression, it was extremely fine and a little sticky but once I climbed with it, it worked amazing. I like fine chalk especially for sport to just dust the fingers a bit and this did great.
