I like this veil. I do think they should put "Does NOT include hat" in bold. Very durable. I now have 2 so my helpers can use one.

It shifts around on your head, like if you have to bend over. I mean I don't do mechanic work while beekeeping, but I do bend down quite a bit, or have to turn my head, and the hat always shifts. It would be nice to attach the veil, to the hat itself somehow, with a loop clip or something.

Item is pictured Including helmet but no helmet is included. Neither is a suitable helmet available on Amazon, Have to go to Mann Lake website and pay an additional $10 + 8.55 shipping. Leaves me a little miffed. While the words "Helmet required" appeared in the listing - I did not notice them during my purchase, and even if I did what that means is still fuzzy. It could mean "you need to use the helmet when using this veil". Better wording would be " Note - Helmet is NOT included in this purchase, extra purchase required to get pictured item. Apart from that the construction of the veil is good and if I were having a better day I would probably keep it and pay the extra $20. But I'm not.

In addition to keeping bees, I do wasp and hornet removals for a living, so I needed something that could hold up to some rather large, aggressive insects. This veil has seen me through some pretty intense situations. The elastic area where the veil meets the helmet (not included!) sometimes slips and can create a small opening, so I use duct tape to keep it in place. The bottom of the veil can also be a bit tricky. The little string is designed to tie tight and keep the bottom of the veil down and against your chest, but sometimes it can get wrinkly and create a small gap where bees can crawl inside your veil. This can be a pretty stressful situation. In order to prevent that, I always wear a button up shirt over top of the veil, so that the edge of the veil is all covered up.It's also possible for the yellow netting to bunch up and lay against my neck, which makes it possible for the bees to sting my neck through the veil. You can just wear a scarf under the veil to protect against this. These may all sound like terrible, terrible things, but honestly, no veil is perfect. What's great about this veil is that it doesn't limit your vision as much as most others, and the screen stays away from your face, so you cant get stung in the face if you look up (which has happened with the flat-front veils). It also looks nice, if you care about that sort of thing. I like that people can see my face relatively clearly while I'm working. For some reason it feels more professional. I've been using this one on all my jobs (several a week spring through fall) for about two years, and it's held up great. I paired it with a super cute purple helmet I found on ebay, so I'm extra styling.

This item did not meet my needs and I returned it. I was looking for protection against bees and other insects when working in the garden and elsewhere. However, the size of the mesh would not keep out gnats or, likely, mosquitoes. I found that the screen was not well sewn onto the tape and I scratched myself on protruding wires. Finally, although it was my mistake in not reading the description closely enough, I didn't realize the helmet must be purchased separately.

Works great with my sunhat and doesn't blow around if there is a slight breeze. I also like how the netting doesn't touch my face which means my slightly annoyed ladies aren't crawling around my face. Highly recommend to all bee keepers.

Nice veil! I wanted a round veil so I wouldn't have to put up with blind spots you get from square ones. I ordered it with the Pith Helmet - Available In Several Colors http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LOEWQI/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_14. The helmet fit snugly into the veil, which I consider a good attribute for a beekeeping veil! Haha. The drawstring is very long, I have seen pictured of people looping them around their body and securing them in front. I'm not sure if this is to take up the slack or this is done for a higher purpose, but it works. My fater-in-law liked it so much he had me order one for him too.
