I bought this for a bead knotting project. This is not for that intended use. Seems to be bonded leather and not a solid strip (which would've been much stronger) I guess for some stringing projects it would work but I would question the durability.

I tugged on it slightly and it just broke apart. I could never trust this for a necklace or any jewelry. It also feels crackley, like it's covered in black paint and the paint is about to peel off. I do not recommend this product.

I needed some leather to make some necklaces. Many leather companies sell this stuff, but it is usually of poor quality and will break. Not this brand. This is top quality leather. I bought three more sizes from this same dealer just to have on hand. I couldn't be happier.

I couldn’t find these locally. The straps are durable and blend so well with the landscape that gardeners have snipped them carelessly. We have had to wrap fluorescent duct tape on them to alert the landscapers to avoid cutting them. This is an issue of careless gardening and a credit to the unobtrusiveness of the material.
