I love everything about these lanterns: the quality is there - not some cheap item; fair price; the variety of colors; the soft glow of light; ease of setup & handling; size. They were ordered right after a power outage during the night. When the power went, I thought I need to look for battery operated lanterns to have on hand for any future outages. Luckily I was patient scrolling through available items & discovered these. I think they will do well in an emergency (the reason for purchasing them). Time will tell about their durability but I am confident they will not disappoint. Children will love having them in their bedroom. I feel comfortable knowing these lanterns are on hand. I highly recommend them - give them a try if you’ve been thinking of getting some.PS- The only suggestion I would make is to include the batteries. Not everyone has 12 (3 per lantern) AA batteries on hand.

I am very pleased with these lanterns. They give out a very good amount of light and are not very heavy.Would buy these again if I need any more.

Ces petites lampes sont très jolies, elles s'éclairent quand on les ouvre. Eclairage agréable et assez puissant. Un très bon rapport qualité/prix. Dommage qu'elles ne soient pas vendues à l'unité.

Lampes qui éclairent très bien, fonctionnement à piles donc pas de problème de batteries ou de recharge en cas de panne d'électricité. Etanchéité et longévité non testées d'où la note de 3 étoiles pour ces items

Many hours of powerful and steady bright light. I bought these for in the event of a power outage. Very lightweight but sturdy. I have had these about a month. I am getting more use out of them than I initially thought I would. At night, I often use the lantern in place of a flashlight . I can clip it to my beltloop with a biner when I am taking out the garbage or doing some other task requiring both hands. I can place it on the ground next to me. I have accidentally kicked it over on a few occasions and it remained unscathed. Handles are a good size for me. I can also slip the lantern onto my wrist (handles might be small for grown man). It emits a circumference of light around me, unlike a flashlight. But, also emits enough light in front of me and on the ground. It is small enough to keep in my tote bag. I use the lantern in place of my book light. I use the slide down feature for less light. I can keep the lantern next to me or on the headboard for reading. I hung the lantern on a hook to illuminate my large closet enabling me to better organize my craft tems. The light is consistent and does not flicker. After 3 weeks of a lot of use, I thought the light seemed slightly dimmer. I replaced the batteries and wow. The light was very bright. I realized that even as the batteries had weakened, this lantern continued to emit good light. I have not had a power outage, yet. I have over-the-door hooks and tested to see how well these would light up the interior of my home. Pretty good. I have bought several lanterns/ lights over the past few years for in the event of an emergency. None have been as durable or practical or designed as well. The slide down feature - on/off is ingenious. Time will tell, but I do think the design of the battery compartment cover was well thought-out and will hold up. This was one downfall for other brands of lanterns I bought, making those products useless after very little use. This lantern is above and beyond my expectations. I use it almost every day. I love it.

While these are a bit smaller than I they would be, they are still very efficient and bright. I actually bought these and basically the same units made by Etekcity, both from Amazon. The casings on both look identical (although the Etekcity is only in black) and they both operate in the same manner, i.e., lift the top out from inside the bottom portion and the light turns on.The difference between them is that the MalloMe has a soft glow since the LEDs are surrounded by a white opaque globe, whereas the Etekcity are much brighter since the LEDs are lined up vertically in the center of the pop-up, with no globe around them. They are both very good, which one you choose is dependent on how you intend to use these. This product is much more suited for reading light inside of a tent, for example or for lighting up a patio table. The Etekcity has a brighter, but more harsh light, something you'd use to try and light up an entire space, more like a flashlight than a lamp. Nonetheless, this still throws off plenty of light, especially given its small size and light weight.I am using both as guides for a very long, winding driveway when guests come and both ther MallowMe and Etekcity work fine for that purpose.The Etekcity costs a few dollars more but it comes with the batteries installed, i.e., 12 AA batteries, 3 per lantern. If you do the math, there's not much difference in cost, just make sure you have 12 AA batteries if you order the MallowMe.This is a good product and a good price. If you're looking for a nice, bright, soft glow in an easy to carry, good looking lantern, you can't go wrong with this lantern.
